 Take pleasure in tasting South Africa’s best wines in a tranquil outdoor setting -
                        Enjoy wine as it was meant to be!


  More than 110 wine producers will present in excess of 600 wines for
                          your enjoyment.
 Relax and enjoy huge shady trees, lush green grass and an abundance of birdlife, while your
kids have fun in the great outdoors! - Situated on the banks of the picturesque Magalies River,
               “The Old Mill” is just 35 minutes from Jhb’s Northern Suburbs.

     As always, designated drivers will be allowed free entrance

     Jumping Castles & Supervised Entertainment for children will be available for
      R25!

     Refreshments & food will be on sale

     In support of the school fundraising, we regret no cooler boxes, braais or
      picnic baskets will be allowed in. Order your Adult, Vegetarian or Kiddies
      picnic baskets in advance from Computicket

     Just Haven, the Nomadic Wellness Facility will be on site for a variety of Spa
      treatments from hand & foot to full body massages

     Valley Lodge is offering all festival goers a 50% discount on accommodation

The 2008 Spring Wine Festival, on Sunday 7th September, is held in aid of the Woodland Preparatory
School in Magaliesberg.

It is an outdoor festival and is held on a large country estate in the countryside of Magaliesberg,
approximately 40 minutes drive from Johannesburg. It is very pretty with lots of lawn, trees to sit under and
a river to stroll along.

Our emphasis is on tasting South Africa's best wines in a tranquil outdoor setting. To this end, more than
110 wine producers will present in excess of 600 wines for the adult tasters enjoyment. This is a family
festival, with supervised entertainment for children whilst the parents relax and enjoy the wines in the
countryside. A large screen will be available for the rugby fans later that afternoon and the food &
refreshments sales will remain open through the rugby.
It is a relaxing, fun family day and you can enjoy wine as it was meant to be enjoyed! Relax and enjoy huge

Designated Drivers
At our inaugural festival in 2001, Cellar Rats Wine Club introduced the policy that Designated Drivers get in
free. To our knowledge we are still the only wine festival who offers this to our patrons.

Please Note
In support of the school fundraising, we regret no cooler boxes, picnic baskets or braais will be allowed in -
Refreshments & food will be on sale. Blankets, chairs & sun umbrellas are welcome.

Meal Information
Food (Prego rolls, boerewors rolls, cheese rolls, salad rolls, Picnic baskets), Refreshments (soft drinks,
water, beers, wine etc), and Tuck shops (sweets, crisps, ice creams etc) will be available at the venue.

Delicious picnic baskets suitable for two adults are sold to raise funds for the Woodland preparatory school.
There is also a fun picnic basket for kids. You can pre-book your picnic baskets at Computicket. Vegetarian
picnic baskets can also be booked.

consists of : French bread & pates; An assortment of cheeses and biscuits; Fresh Salad; Cold meats /
chicken drumsticks / egg and condiments; Fresh country dessert; Bottle of wine (choice of red, white or
rose) Above subject to availability of fresh products.

Vegetarian Picnic Basket 2 Adults: R170.00 (does not include tasting ticket): Vegetarian picnic basket
sufficient for 2 adults consists of : French bread & Humus; An assortment of cheeses and biscuits; 2 x
different Salads; Egg and condiments; Fresh country dessert; Bottle of wine (choice of red, white or rose)

Picnic Basket 1 Child: R34.50: Kid's picnic basket for 1 child consists of : Chicken drumstick; bread roll;
crisps; cold drink; sweet

Just Haven, the Nomadic Wellness Facility
Just Haven, the Nomadic Wellness Facility offers a number of different treatments, ranging from hand &
foot rituals (massages) to standard massages (full body, Indian head, back & neck, aroma, hot stone, etc)
and facials. Indulge yourself along the banks of the Magalies River and feel yourself unwind. Treatment
prices range from R200 to R600.

Accommodation
Should festival goers wish to stay in Magaliesburg on the Saturday and / or Sunday evenings, The Valley
Lodge, which is conveniently situated very close to the festival and who supports our "don't drink and drive"
initiative has offered a 50% discount on accommodation for the duration of the weekend for those going
to the Wine Festival. For further information contact Desre on 014 577 1301/5 and she will discuss the
prices and rooming options.
DIRECTIONS:
From Johannesburg Northern Suburbs
1. Take Beyers Naude (ex-DF Malan) north past Honeydew.
2. Take the N14 highway (extension of R28), towards Krugersdorp
3. At traffic lights turn RIGHT onto the N14.
4. Follow N14 for 10km until T-junction (opp. Oak Tree Garage).
5. Turn RIGHT and follow for +/- 800m and then take LEFT FORK to Ventersdorp / Tarlton (also the N14).
    Do NOT go straight on the Hekpoort Road.
6. Follow N14 for 10km until 4-way stop.
7. Turn right at 4-way stop onto R24.
8. Follow R24 for 12km (you’ll pass Orient Butchery on right hand side and Corriloch Fish Farm on left
    hand side).
9. Look for “PARKING” signs on right hand side of road as you go through sharp bend (opposite Happy
    Acres).
10. Turn right into PARKING. Park and follow directions to CELLAR RATS SPRING WINE FESTIVAL
11. GPS Coordinates: S26° 00.485’ , E27° 33.913’

From Pretoria
1. Take R28 towards Krugersdorp (This becomes the N14). Follow from Step 3 above.
