             DRESS CODE       Sleeved school shirts or T-shirts, blazers or tracksuit tops are

   RIDERS AND   Riders & Horses do not have to be registered with any society.

        ENTRY   Entries will be accepted on a first come, first served basis. The show
                organizers reserve the right to cancel / combine or split classes at
 RESTRICTIONS   their discretion.

GENERAL RULES       1.  The Judges decision is final.
                    2.  The classes that have set times will have preference in the
                        event of a clash, but the onus is on the competitor to advise
                        those in charge of an arena of a potential clash PRIOR to
                        the start of the class. Failure to do so may disqualify the
                        rider.
                    3. By entering the show, the rider and/or his legal guardian
                        agree that neither the SANEF SCHOOLS, EC HS, Equine-
                        Librium Plettenberg Bay, the organizers, owners, officials or
                        their employees or representatives will be held responsible
                        for any loss, damage, theft or injury sustained by horses /
                        ponies, riders, spectators or their property at this event.
                    4. PLEASE LEAVE YOUR DOGS AT HOME!
                    5. It is up to the individual to ensure that their horse/pony has
                        been vaccinated/inoculated and is fit and healthy to
                        compete and does not have to the best of their knowledge
                        any contagious diseases
                    6. The competitor undertakes not to bring any horse/pony to
                        the show which has an infectious disease, whether
                        notifiable or not, or which horse/pony the competitor could
                        reasonably be expected to know has an infectious disease
                        or may spread such a disease. The competitor shall
                        withdraw such an animal with forfeiture of entry fees.
                    7. A school may enter a maximum of 4 Qualifying shows
                        during one season.
                    8. No school or rider may enter in more than one region in a
                        year.
                    9. In the event a show is cancelled, qualifier points from
                        previous shows will be re-calculated.
                    10. There will be no refunds of entry fees or any part thereof, in
                        the event the show is postponed or cancelled for any
                        reason whatsoever.
  NEWCOMERS     Lead Rein riders will be accommodated in Level O with the Beginner
                riders. A school may enter a team at Level O which is made up of
   CHALLENGE    only Lead Rein riders, only Beginner Riders or a combination of
                both. As this Level has been created to protect beginners, NO rider
                who rides in Level O in either the Prep or High Schools, may enter
                ANY other Level. A Lead Rein rider may progress to Beginner rider
                during the qualifiers and retain their scores for the qualifiers. Level 0
                Riders will compete in the NEWCOMER Challenge FINALS at the
                end of the season. They are not eligible for Provincial or National
                Colours.

 DEVELOPMENT    Subsidies for children whose participation depends on financial aid
                may be applied for in writing to info@sanefschools.org.za . SANEF
                Schools will look at each application and its decision will be made
                in terms of the development criteria of SANEF Schools.

   NUMBER OF    No pony or horse may compete in more than 4 classes per day

     CLASSES
         LEAGUE    Schools will compete in category sizes of (E)1-3, (F)4-6, (G)7-9,
                   (H)10-12 and up in increments of 3.
     CATEGORIES
POINTS & SCORING   Irrespective of the number of competitors in a class, the first placed
                   competitor will be awarded 100 points, the second placed competitor
          SYSTEM   will be awarded 99 points, down to the one hundredth placed
                   competitor who will get one point.

DRESSAGE

If a rider wishes to receive Horse Society grading points, he/she will have to ride at the level in which he/she and
his/her horse/pony are registered and indicate on the entry form that he/she wishes to be graded for that class. Th
onus is on the rider to ensure that he/she and his/her horse/pony are correctly registered and have entered in the
correct classes to be considered for grading points.

LEVEL 0                      BEGINNER LEVEL

Class 52                     Level 0: Performance Riding Test: Halt in front of the judge and introduce yourself. Show a

                                 serpentine in sitting or rising trot. Canter onto either the left or right rein. Change the rein th
                                 the trot and canter on the other rein. Lengthen the canter a few strides. Halt at judge. Rein b
                                 few strides. Salute. Dismount and cross stirrups or fold them up. Stand your pony/horse up f
                                 judge and when instructed, walk away from the judge and trot back and past the judge.

     LEVEL 3
      Class 55                   Level 3: Performance Riding Test: Halt in front of the judge and introduce yourself. Trot a
                                 of 8 in sitting trot. Back to walk. Canter from walk on either the left or the right rein. Change th
                                 through the walk. Canter on the other rein. Lengthen the canter. Trot. Lengthen the trot

      Class 56                   Level 4 Performance Riding Test: Perform a short test of your choice to best show of
                                 pony/horse.




     WORKING RIDING
       There may be no cross-entries between the levels. Riders entering Level 0 may NOT cross-enter or enter any
level in any other discipline at
       the show. All classes will be judged on performance.
       Tests may be collected at the Working Riding Arena Director’s Box.

There will be no swapping of horses in SANESA Equitation classes

SHOW JUMPING
There may be no cross-entries between the levels. Lead Rein Riders may not enter Show jumping.
Riders entering Level 0 may NOT cross-enter or enter any other level in any other discipline at the show.
A rider may move up and down levels and retain the points he has accumulated thus far in that level for his school
no individual points will be carried forward if a rider moves out of a level.
If a rider wishes to receive Horse Society grading points, he will have to ride in the height in which he and his
horse/pony are registered and indicate on the entry form that he wishes to be graded for that class. The onus is on
rider to enter in the correct classes.
