Dear Parents,

FOOD FOR THOUGHT
Discipline isn’t something parents do to a child –
It’s something they do for a child.
It has to come from love.

SCHOOL CLOSED
School will be closed on Monday 15 June and Tuesday 16 June.
UPDATE ON TEACHER JENNY
Unfortunately Jenny from the office has had further complications with her back problem resulting in
more surgery on Monday 8 June. We wish her a complete recovery soon.
We welcome Sue Fletcher who is standing in at the office during Jenny's absence.

FATHERS DAY BOEREWORS BRAAI - FRIDAY 19 JUNE 2009 at 5p.m.
Dads - you should have received your blue invitation yesterday. Please return the reply slip as soon
as possible (even if the answer is NO).

FEES
Please note that all fees for July are payable no later than 1 July. Please hand in your cheques to the
office before the school closes on Friday 26 June, even if they are post-dated to 1 July.
Parents paying by internet or direct bank deposit can do so as usual.
Management have adopted a new policy for stricter control over late payment of fees and so your co-
operation in this regard would be appreciated. Please note that from 1 July 2009 interest will be
charged on overdue accounts at Prime + 2%.

have completed an application form and have been placed in our waiting file.

      Therapist within the Nursery School.
 Talk by an Educational Psychologist - Janet Brown will give a short explanation of what an

                                     P.T.O. FOR MORE IMPORTANT INFORMATION
CLASS MOMS
Sam Wilke was the Class Moms' Group Leader. With Sam taking over as Principal, the Group Leader
will now be Helen Henderson from the Blue Class. We thank Helen for giving her time.

PROGRESS REPORTS
Progress reports will be handed out on Thursday 25 June 2009. Parents must please collect them
personally from the class teachers.
NB Reports will not be issued to children with overdue accounts until all monies owing are paid in full.

"PYJAMA PARTY" ON THE LAST DAY OF TERM – FRIDAY 26 JUNE
As a special treat we will be having a “PYJAMA PARTY” on Friday 26 June. Children will be
allowed to wear appropriate (warm) sleepwear for the morning. (They may bring a change of clothes
in their bag if they want to change later). We recommend that the children wear their normal shoes
as we do not want any slippers being ruined when the children play in the garden.
Please also send a little extra something special in their lunch box to have for their picnic.

CLOSING TIME ON THE LAST DAY OF TERM - FRIDAY 26 JUNE
School will close on Friday 26 June at 11a.m.
Unless children are booked for lunch or aftercare, parents are to please fetch their children from
11 a.m. on that day, with final collection time by 11.15 a.m. at the latest.
The lunch facility and aftercare will run as normal until 17h00.

HOLIDAY CARE
The schedule for Holiday Care over the July holidays will be issued soon. All Panda Pen children are
welcome to attend - either every day, or just some days - but everything must be booked with Sue
Fletcher in the office beforehand. The cost is R90 per day (or part thereof) and the correct money
must accompany the booking form in a clearly marked envelope and then be placed in the metal
"deposit box".

THIRD TERM
The new term begins on Monday 20 July 2009.

                                    LITTLE SCHOOL NEWS

LATE-COMERS AT 08H30
Classes start at 08h30.
If you are late, please wait at the Little School gate until the end of first ring (approximately 09h00), in
order to avoid disrupting the classes. The class assistant will then collect the child from the gate as
parents will not be allowed in the school after 08h30.
We thank you for your assistance in arriving at school on time.

Wishing you a happy holiday and a safe journey if you are travelling.

Kind regards,
