Musa Kalenga is probably what Kwame Nkrumah had in mind when Ghana first won its freedom.
In fact, much of this great African leader’s wisdom has inspired Musa to become the man he’s
busy becoming: a visionary young African who believes the continent’s finest hour will come
when each person is empowered to live out their purpose – a goal he’s personally committed to.

To this end Musa, as a seasoned communicator, strives to inspire fellow young Africans in
particular through his talks and writings; his passion for communication finding its finest
expression in topics surrounding youth development and Africa’s advancement.

His keen insights into the youth led to the establishment of Monatefellaz, a marketing and
research consultancy specialising in young consumers. Hailed as a marketing fundi by Sunday
World newspaper, Musa has received much acclaim for his work, including an unprecedented
three nominations for the prestigious Black Business Quarterly (BBQ) Awards in 2008 in the
categories: Young Business Achiever, Businessman of the Year and New Entrepreneur. His
consultancy was also nominated for the Business Innovation and Best BEE SMME awards.

Musa has worked with ABSA (researching and presenting groundbreaking solutions pertaining to
the youth market), Transnet (managing internal communications during rebrand), Urban Brew
Studio, YO-TV, the Brand Leadership Group, Unilever and Ulendo Travel, amongst others.
With a deep love for the performing arts and an accomplished dancer himself, Musa has also
been the creative producer and head choreographer for countless youth events.

As a television presenter, Musa has worked on the breakfast show Africa Awakes on DStv
channel 107, broadcasting throughout Africa and much of the USA, as well as SABC’s 1day
CEO, an entrepreneurship centered, youth orientated show. And with his Kalenga Touch show,
which explores individuals who share his passion for life and entrepreneurial prosperity with the
development of the continent in mind, he’s currently staking his claim as Africa’s Brand Manager.

He also serves as a non-executive director on the board of EASI Human Capital, a position that
fits well with his commitment to developing the youth.

In 2005/2006 Musa became the first Chairman of the Youth Advertising Board of South Africa,
enabling him to further advance his dedication to the youth empowerment cause by initiating a
number of youth-related topical debates and discussions.

In 2009, Musa Kalenga was appointed as one of the ambassadors to the One movement with the
International organization for migration. The movement is a social initiative to create a conscious
