2. Greetings from Archbishop Emeritus Philip Russel

   From: Archbishop Emeritus Philip Russel
To: The President and Members of the 31st Provincial Synod Meeting

   Dear Friends,

You kindly sent me a message of greeting and love, with the assurance of your
prayers on the occasion of the meeting of the 30th Provincial Synod.

It was much appreciated. Miles of ocean may separate us, but awareness of our
Unity in Christ is an indispensable part of our faith. I am particularly grateful to
those Dioceses which send me their Intercessions. They remind me daily of this
relationship, and extent my knowledge and understanding of what God is doing
through you in Southern Africa at this time. Your fight against HIV/AIDS and
poverty is well known; as is also your determination to end racial discrimination
   and injustice.

May God’s Holy Spirit guide, direct and uphold you at all times, especially now
   in your current meeting.

   Every Blessing
   + Philip
                                                                                 3
