CADLEY INTERNATIONAL STUDY CENTRE IS A MICRO HIGH SCHOOL,
OFFERING SUPERVISED STUDY AND TUITION FOR STUDENTS DOING
CAMBRIDGE AND SOUTH AFRICAN ACADEMIC COURSES, AS WELL AS
VARIOUS VOCATIONAL AND OTHER NON-ACADEMIC COURSES AT HIGH
SCHOOL LEVEL.

CAMBRIDGE INTERNATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL COURSES
• Cambridge Foundation (Grades 8 & 9), IGCSE (O levels), HIGCSE
(Matric) and AS-Level courses are offered through correspondence
study. The flexible curriculum allows students to complete high school in 3
to 5 years. Students can then progress to A-Levels at the British
     International College.
• The Cambridge courses are offered through the British International
Distance College, to which we are accredited.
Students register with the college as a distance student, but work under
the guidance and supervision of qualified teachers at the study centre.
• The study centre concept grew out of the response to an increasing
demand for quality distance education. As an internationally recognised
high school qualification, distance learning, using the Cambridge system,
has become popular as a less expensive alternative to private schooling.
• The British International Distance College has been providing distance
tuition in Cambridge qualifications for a number of years, and are a fully
approved Cambridge examination and tuition centre, with many students
having obtained scholarships to the likes of Oxford and Harvard
    Universities.
• Students will be required to follow a study programme and meet
assignment deadlines to prepare them for their examinations. These are
held in May/June and October/November each year. Assignments are
submitted to, and collected from, the British International Distance
College in person, by a representative of the study centre.

DIRECTLY FOR INDIVIDUAL COURSE AND EXAMINATION FEES.

INTEC AND DAMELIN COURSES (GRADE 10, GRADE 12,
    NON-ACADEMIC AND VOCATIONAL)
• Students wishing to complete their schooling in the South African
Education system, purchase their courses from INTEC or DAMELIN
    College.
• All students starting at Cadley International after Grade 7, must first
complete the Cambridge Foundation Course (Equivalent to Grade 9).
• Cadley International Study Centre also recognises the need for
Non-academic High School courses to meet the needs of students
more suited to vocational study and hands-on practical experience.
• Students enrol with INTEC or DAMELIN as a correspondence student
and study under the supervision and guidance of qualified tutors at the
    study centre.
• Students will be required to follow a study programme and meet
assignment deadlines to prepare them for their examinations. These are
held in October/November each year. Assignments are submitted by
facsimile or e-mail by a representative of the study centre.
• Courses currently offered are:
*ACADEMIC GRADE 12 – SENIOR CERTIFICATE (Matric)
 Entrance requirement, Grade 10 or 11.
 Students choose seven subjects from approved groups
 Two Languages, Mathematics or Mathematics Literacy and Life
  Orientation are compulsory
 This course can be completed in one or two years.
*ACADEMIC GRADE 10
 Entrance requirement, Grade 9 or age 15.
 Students submit and pass a set amount of assignments throughout
  their course of study.
 This course prepares students for Grade 12 in the South African
  Education system.
 Assessment includes submission and passing of assignments as well
  as a final examination.

*Please note that due to certain restrictions implemented by the
Department of Education the South African Grade 10, 11 and 12
courses are currently unavailable through distance study.
Details of the new curriculum will become available from June 2008
at which time we are hoping to offer these courses.
Cambridge High School courses will continue to be offered.

VOCATIONAL, TECHNICAL AND CREATIVE COURSES
Cadley have previously offered a Game Ranging course through INTEC
and the ICDL computer course through Damelin.
INTEC offers a wide variety of courses, ranging from Gourmet Cooking,
Engineering to Dressmaking. Most of these courses require at least a
Grade 9 or Grade 10 qualification to enrol. Many are non-exam courses.
Where student numbers and resources permit, we at Cadley International,
will endeavour to run as many of these courses as possible.
CAMBRIDGE COURSES
Damelin Correspondence College also offers IGCSE (O-levels) and
HIGCSE (Matric) courses. These courses are, however, limited in subject
choice and they do not offer the Foundation (Grade 8 and 9) course.
The advantage being, that these courses are a more cost effective option
than the British International Distance College.

• STUDENT REQUIREMENTS

Students opting for the Cambridge courses should have a strong
academic background as these courses are of a very high standard.
Self Study is encouraged and rewarded.

We believe in allowing our students to develop independent work habits
by setting a pace suitable to their own learning style.

We move away from the traditional “chalk and talk” method, whereby
students become passive learners in a classroom situation.
Tutors are on hand to offer assistance and to explain difficult work
content, without the need to constantly “watch” the students.
Supervision takes the form of support and assistance, whilst co-ordinating
     studies and maintaining order.

Mild to moderate learning difficulties can be accommodated.
Certain students with severe cases of ADD, ADHD, Dyslexia and other
learning problems may have difficulty coping with the course work.

Each Student will be assessed on his or her own merits, as they are seen
as individuals, with differing abilities and potential.

                    TUITION FEES FOR 2008
