"Extra Material for Management Class"
EDUC 4464 – Class 6 Site of the Day: http://career.vt.edu/JOBSEARC/intervie w/TEACHER.htm January 22, 2008 (Sections 12, 11 & 13) January 24, 2008 (Sections 10 & 9) Welcome to your last Management Class Behavioural Plans Please have one individual at your table collect and bring up your behaviour plans. Activity One On your table you have chart paper listing misbehaviours As a group pick one misbehaviour Discuss how you could have been proactive to prevent it Discuss how you could deal with (interventions then consequence) Prepare to share this with the class 10 minutes to prepare Activity Two – Bill 212 Look through the Bill 212 handout (I need to keep these so do not write on them) Make notes, discuss, bring back questions Take a break too! 25 minutes Today we will be watching part of a video. As I can’t invite a class of students in, this is a way to apply some of what we have learned this year. While you watch, make notes on how this teacher had ‘things go wrong’. Assignments: I will hand back your management plans in an upcoming class or put them in your section’s mailbox. I am available to discuss any element of these with you – contact me by e-mail and come with specific questions. You’re Done ! I want to wish you all the best in your new careers. For all of you I hope that it eventually becomes more than a career – that it becomes a passion. If you have any questions this year or in the years to come, give me a shout. My door is always open. All the Best ! Bye ! Evaluations: I ask that you consider signing the written part. For those of you who worry…I am not given these back from the dean’s office until after I submit your final grade. The idea of asking you to sign your name is because as teachers we take our professional accountability seriously. It is why we also, as professionals, sign our names to any assessment, evaluation or learning strategy agreement (ie., IEPs, report cards, etc…). Will the class rep please come up to get the evaluations.
