                                 TEACHER OF MATHEMATICS

                     (part-time, up to 0.6, to cover maternity leave)

Required for April, a well-qualified and enthusiastic teacher of Mathematics to teach mathematics at
 key stage 3 and GCSE. Mathematics is popular at A-Level and the results at GCSE and A-Level are
impressive and still improving. All pupils are entered for GCSE and the pass rate is 100% with 78%
   of grades at C or above. The Mathematics department is housed in a single unit and very well
                         resourced both in terms of equipment and staffing.

ADVANCED SKILLS TEACHER – MATHS

                                HISTORY TEACHER (MPS)

 Required for September, a qualified and enthusiastic teacher of History to teach across the
 age and ability range in a successful department. History is a popular choice at GCSE and
   A-level with an excellent record of success. The department enjoys excellent facilities,
   including a class set of laptops and smartboards. the suite of rooms is housed with the
                                            library.

  History is taught as part of a Humanities course in Year 7 and in Years 8 and 9 all pupils
have a discrete History lesson each week. At GCSE all pupils study the Edexcel SHP course
    with a study in depth looking at Germany 1919-45 and Development study looking at
 Medicine through Time. For coursework we look at the significance of the work of Bletchley
 Park during World War II and an enquiry focussed on the assassination of John F Kennedy.

At A Level the Year 13s follow the OCR scheme and at AS we aim to teach the new OCR B
                                        Course.

We are looking for an enthusiastic Historian who is supportive of an enquiry and skills based

teacher to join our strong department. The ability to teach across the full age and ability
range, including A-level, will be an advantage. The Second in Department currently has
oversight of KS3 matters but this will be reviewed in the light of the interests and experience

                   TEACHING ASSISTANT (LEARNING SUPPORT, LEVEL 1)

                     25 hours per week, term time only + staff training days
                              Salary range £12,291-£14,197 pro rata

 To work with special educational needs students. Persons appointed will be based in our Learning
Support Department and will work with students experiencing literacy and/or numeracy difficulties in
  particular. There may be the opportunity of working with Autistic Spectrum students or those with
challenging behaviour. Full training is provided, although previous experience of working with young
                                 people will be a distinct advantage.



                                      SCIENCE TECHNICIAN

                                 30 hours per week, term time only
                               Salary range £14,197-£15,470 pro rata

              To work in the school’s well developed and busy Science Department.
                        The successful applicant will be team-orientated and
                                keen to work in a school environment.
 Some basic scientific knowledge is essential but extra training will be provided. Basic knowledge of
                        health and safety regulations would be an advantage.
