The Human Resource Adviser is responsible for the provision of high level
human resource management consultancy and advisory services to senior
management, management and employees of nmbSA which results in the
achievement of business outcomes through the application of consistent,
contemporary and best practice human resource management.

The Human Resource Adviser will participate in various human resource
management projects and contribute to human resource management policy and
procedure development, implementation and evaluation. The Human Resource
Adviser contributes to strategic human resource management matters and
provides operational support across nmbSA.

Information for Applicants
Thank you for considering a position at the Nursing and Midwifery Board of South
Australia (nmbSA).The following information is provided to help you prepare an
application that will best demonstrate your merit in relation to the advertised
position.

Your application is your introduction to the selection panel.

So how can you make your first impression count?

The nmbSA recommend the following format be provided to assist the selection
panel:

   •   a brief covering letter (maximum one page)

   •   a response to the Job Specific Capabilities in the Person Specification*

   •   a Curriculum Vitae or Resume that outlines details such as:

             Name and address
             Education details
             Employment history (in descending order from your most recent
             position)
             Relevant experience/skills
             Three current referees (address, email & telephone numbers)

Response to the Job Specific Capabilities Requirements in the Person
Specification*

The selection panel make an initial assessment of each applicant’s merit in relation
to the Job Specific Capabilities requirements of the job as listed in the Person
Specification.

Depending on this initial assessment, the panel decides whether the applicant is
considered further for the position.

To maximise your chances of being considered further, you need to demonstrate in
your application that you:

   •   meet all the Job Specific Capabilities requirements and where possible, the
       Desirable requirements listed in the Person Specification;
   •   are capable of carrying out the duties of the position.
How do you do this?

List each Job Specific Capabilities requirements in the Person Specification and
describe the best example(s) from your employment experience, skills, knowledge
and abilities to show that you are capable of carrying out the duties of the position.

Don't forget to include examples of transferable experience, skills, knowledge, and
abilities that you have gained outside of work. For example; financial skills acquired
when treasurer for a voluntary agency, meeting skills while member and/or
chairperson of a management committee, presentation skills from delivering training
sessions in a voluntary organisation.

You may use the same example more than once or group a number of related
requirements together and then describe in detail your best example(s).

Referees

Give your three referees a copy of the Job and Person Specification before
forwarding your application and discuss with them their opinion of your merit in
relation to requirements.

Checking Details

Once you have completed your application (including office and out of office hours
contact details) and CV, check that you have addressed all the Job Specific
Capabilities requirements of the Person Specification and demonstrated that you
can carry out all the duties of the position.

Submitting Your Application

Please submit three (3) complete copies of your application (original plus two (2)
duplicates) along with three (3) copies of any other documents e.g. work reports,
statements and qualifications.
