Principles of Selective Photothermolysis
Photothermolysis -

• The absorption of light (photo) in pigments (hemoglobin,
melanin)

• The transformation of absorbed light into heat (thermo)

• The destruction (lysis) of the target cells by the high
temperature

• Minimal absorption and heat production in epidermis
  and dermis (without pigments)
