can be traced to a root beer stand opened in Washington, D.C., in 1927
by J. Willard and Alice S. Marriott. Today, Marriott International has more
than 3,100 lodging properties located in the United States and 65 other
countries and territories.
Marriott approached HALO/Lee Wayne to assist with developing a high
end gift experience related to the travel industry for their 2008 Travel
Partners Event. The target market includes Marriott’s largest Travel Partners
and their corporate sponsors.

HALO/Lee Wayne worked with key suppliers to create and identify an
item that would provide a unique shopping experience for the customer.
Upon registering for the Travel Partners Conference, the customer spent
10-15 minutes to shop and customize a travel bag of their choice complete
with the choice of fabric, color, trim and personalization, an ideal gift for
the target audience who travels over 100,000 air miles each year.
Survey results showed positive responses with many noting that this
was the best gift experience they had ever had. The program was also
implemented by many of the Travel Partners for their own client conferences.
