Souk shopping (Gold, Spice and Textiles Souks) in Bastakia

Have a drink at the XVA hotel/café – very nice (Tel: +971 353 5383)
-  also jump on an abra boat on the creek to see the city from the water

Go to the Madinat souk for late afternoon shopping
-   stay for dinner at one of the many restaurants (wander until you find one you like)

Go to Karama for bargain hunt shopping
-   lots of fake designer clothes/bags/pens etc.

Visit a shop called Persepolis - Tel: 04 334 2824 for 10 dirham pashmina’s = 1.50!
-    great bags at shop called Blue Label (ask to go upstairs to see exclusive collections)

If you like horses do the Nad al Sheba
-    one of the world’s leading racing facilities, home to the Gold Cup
-    stable tour (you get to see top Arabian horses up close)
-    plus ride golf buggies!
-    Godolphin gallery/museum and breakfast.
-    early morning start but great fun Tel. 04 336 3666.
-    the racing season is Nov-Apr if you want to see the horses in race action!
-    there’s also the only night lit golf course there in Dubai.
Visit the camel market to see the camel racetrack
-    see the camels training
-    the market sells colourful camel blankets for 10 AED = 1.50!
-    a short trip but worth doing in a taxi if you are on the way to/from Dubai centre

Have sundowner cocktails at the rooftop bar at the Royal Mirage Hotel
-  get there for 5pm, sun sets around 6-ish
-  one of the best hotels in Dubai, perhaps stay for supper

See flamingo’s at Al Khor (outskirts of Dubai)
-   get the taxi driver to show you on the way to or back from Dubai Centre
