(Some we will save for dance decorations – but I will let you know.) Mansfield High School Homecoming “Tigers are Forever – MHS Centennial 1909-2009” Hall Decorating Rules 1. The officers of each class will be responsible for their class hall. 2. Halls will be decorated on Friday, September 11th from 2:30 – 10:30 P.M. (You may create decorations before but nothing can be hung until 9/11 at 2:30 P.M.) 3. A class sponsor must be present as the class works. 4. Anything hung from the ceiling may not intrude into the walk space (floor to approximately 6’ high). 5. Tape may not be used as a means of hanging anything from the ceiling tiles. 6. Decorations may be placed on the lockers, but students must be able to open them. 7. There may be no spray paint used inside the building. All spray painting should be done prior to the designated decorating time. Please be careful when spray painting to not get paint on sidewalks or pavement. 8. All posters must be dry prior to hanging. 9. Any damage done to the building while either putting up or taking down decorations will be charged to the class. 10. Helium filled balloons may not be used. 11. Fog machines may not be used. 12. Items coming out from the wall may not extend more than 12” or impede traffic flow. 13. You may not have the entire wall covered with paper due to fire codes. Any given hall will have decorations utilizing ¾ wall coverage and ¼ wall free and clear of all decorations. 14. Do not cover fire extinguishers, defibrillators, glass cases, lights, light switches, alarms, clocks, windows, teacher doors, etc. with paper or other decorations. 15. Decorations will be judged on artistry, creativity, theme, relation to Mansfield Tigers, overall appearance, effort put into hall, use of space (¾ wall coverage to ¼ empty wall), neatness, organization, and obeying all Homecoming Rules. 16. ALL decorations must be taken down from 2:30 – 4:00 on Friday, September 18th. Some decorations will use for the Student Council 5th Quarter Homecoming Dance and we will help in the careful removal so we can reuse them.) Assigned Halls – Student Council will mark the halls so you will know the beginning and ending points. Please keep decorations in the designated areas only. Both sides of the halls must be decorated. 1. Seniors – Main Hall from Distance Learning Lab door to Mrs. Crane’s office door (the hall with the slope heading to cafeteria) and opposite wall. 2. Juniors - Main hall from corner of Attendance Office to end of hall by Mr. Varnado’s back door and opposite Library wall. 3. Sophomores - Main Hall (upstairs) from Mr. Vopal’s office suite to Counseling Office and opposite wall. 4. Freshman - B & D Halls – a.k.a. “Tiger Beach” A list of Decoration Requirements 1. You must display the Homecoming theme in your hall 2. You must display your grade level in your hall. 3. Each hall is a “Spirit Hall” so you can use any decorations exhibiting your school spirit 4. Judging will be based on artistry, creativity, theme, relation to Mansfield Tigers, overall appearance, effort put into hall, use of space (¾ wall coverage to ¼ empty wall), neatness, organization, and obeying all Homecoming rules.
