Volume 5, Issue 2 April 2007

From the President’s Desk

One of our focus areas this year as a Chamber was to ask our members to step outside of their comfort zone and meet new people. At our last membership meeting we spent 15 minutes moving from table to table introducing ourselves and collecting business cards. I realize that not everyone you meet is a potential prospect for your business but it may be a referral source for someone else you know. I am a big advocate of doing business with people who do business with you. I would like to think that most people want to deal with people they know and trust. Therefore if you have never met the people in your own Chamber, you may never get the opportunity to earn their trust and thus their business. I ask you, what’s holding you back from getting outside your comfort zone? At our next Member meeting we will be entertained by the Men’s Warehouse with a program on dressing for success. We will also continue with more on the Art of Mingling. Don’t for get to watch your calendars for upcoming events. Also, you can check the Chamber website for the latest on what’s happening. See you at the April membership meeting. Anthony

It’s not too late to advertise! Work has begun on the 2007 edition of The Vinton Image Magazine. The magazine committee is asking for your support in making this edition the most successful one yet. As you may recall, the objective of the magazine was to get a Chamber directory of active members into the hands of consumers in hopes that they would contact you for their wants and needs. As an added benefit with this edition, all advertisers will get a BOLD LISTING in the directory pages. We are continuously trying to improve the magazine, and again ask for your input and suggestions on doing that. When a representative of your Vinton Image contacts you, ask them how you can help support the Chamber and it's goals for your success in 2007. To advertise, contact Barry Wright at RP Publishing 772-1868 or
