REVIEW
Recent Developments Some new developments this semester include the FMA subgroups, online trading account, real estate program, alumni database, advisors board, Director of Human Resources and a camping social! Investment Committee The Investment Committee is very pleased that the approval for the online trading account came through. Committee members will now be able to make trades on a weekly basis using the techniques learned during their meetings. All Investment Committee meetings will also be taught by guest speakers who are professionals that invest on a regular basis. FMA is accepting donations for those who would like to help make the online trading program a success! Feel free to contact me if you are interested in participating (my contact information is at the bottom of this letter). Real Estate Program I was also very pleased to establish a real estate program for FMA. The University is currently very limited on the real estate courses that it offers for students. I took this as an opportunity to provide our members with a diverse real estate program where they could hear from guest speakers who are experts in various aspects of real estate. The program consists of six, one hour classes. Those members who attend five out of six classes will be rewarded with a certificate of completion for showing the ambition to learn more about the industry. Executive Board Director of Human Resources is a position that was added to the Executive Board this semester. Some of the responsibilities associated with this position include the FMA bulletin, managing active status, meeting minutes and the Resume Booklet. The CIO is now responsible for managing the FMA website, alumni database, Myspace and Facebook online accounts. This is to help with online networking and marketing for the organization. We are excited about a promising future and will keep all of our members, alumni and supporters updated throughout the semester! Mahalo, Ian Clagstone

LETTER FROM THE PRESIDENT
loha, I would like to introduce you to the Financial Management Association (FMA) Review! This bulletin is dedicated to establishing and maintaining strong networks between current FMA members, alumni and professionals within the business community. The Review will feature a letter from the President which will contain updates on what recent changes or activities have occurred in the past month or what plans we’ve made for the future. This section will also include pictures from various FMA events. The second section will be a featured article on a major upcoming activity that we have planned. The third part of the FMA Review is going to have a FMA correspondence forum. The forum will consist of an alumni correspondent who will write to the FMA about what new changes have occurred with alumni from their graduating class. If you are interested in finding out whom your class correspondent is, look at the end of the Alumni Correspondence section and the contact information for your correspondent will be provided.

Membership Recruitment went extremely well for FMA this semester. The Executive Board followed an aggressive recruiting strategy; speaking to twenty eight classes about the FMA and the opportunities the club provides for its members. We were able to recruit about sixty five new members bringing the total number of members to a little over ninety students! This is a record for club membership and provides an amazing foundation for the club to build on! We are even subdividing groups within the club, to encourage bonding and friendly competition among members. The Orientation Picnic was a success with close to seventy members who attended. The day consisted of a speed dating activity, relay race, barbeque and water balloon toss. Kitt Turner, Wendi Sukita and Rick Takeshita’s group won the relay race and earned points for their group. Miha and Jon won the water balloon toss and gained Nicole and my group some points. The day concluded with a water balloon ambush on me when I wasn’t looking! I’d like to thank everyone for drenching me before the day was over!
