GENERAL INFORMATION The City of Cape Town Situated at the southern-most tip of the African continent, the Western Cape is the number one tourism destination in South Africa. Fondly referred to as Africa's Fairest Cape, this fourth largest province in South Africa is blessed with incredible scenic beauty, unparalleled botanical splendor and is, due to moderate climatic conditions, a year-round destination. The province is home to Cape Town, where the world-renowned Table Mountain presides over Robben Island, please of incarceration of former President Nelson Mandela. Within this region, representing the spirit of the South African nation, visitors discover the soul of the country. DESTINATIONS Take time to explore the glorious Cape. TEMPERATURE AND TIME Cape Town has a Mediterranean climate with moderate to warm temperatures. The month of February is part of summer, with temperatures around 25 - 32 degrees Celsius. Please however bring along a warm jacket as Cape Town weather is variable. ELECTRICAL POWER The standard city power system is 200/230 volts. Adaptors may be available at hotels but are limited. Foreign-made appliances may require a power transformer and plug adapter to fit our round three-prong outlets MEDICAL CARE The hotel has a doctor on call if at any stage during your stay you need medical attention. CURRENCY AND BANKING South Africa's currency is rand and cents, and most local businesses will not accept other currencies. You can exchange currency at the hotel (provided the hotel has the amount available). Banks are open from 08h30 to 15h30 on Mondays to Fridays and on Saturdays from 09h00 to 11h00. Visa, Master Card, American Express and Diners Club cards should give you access to all activities you want to participate in. WATER Water supplies are reliable and tap water is normally safe to drink. The water supplied in towns, hotels and swimming pools is from purified central water supply systems and is therefore perfectly safe. TOURS Please note examples of popular tours.
