NEW REGULATIONS
On 6 April 2004 new regulations, The Conduct of Employment Agencies and Employment Business Regulations 2003 (the "Regulations"), were introduced to regulate employment agencies and businesses. The Regulations contain provisions, which are intended to secure the proper conduct of the employment agencies and businesses and to protect the interests of persons using their services, both clients and candidates alike. When considering the services of an Agency, it would be wise to check that they adhere to the new regulations. If you would like further information regarding the benefits of an Agency working within the new regulations, contact Sue Williams on 0161 839 2309.

One-day HR courses from Kingsgate Consulting...
HR for Line Managers and PAs
In today's cost conscious business environment, all to often HR responsibility lands at the feet of office managers and PAs with no previous HR experience or qualifications. Although managers and PAs will relish this additional responsibility and enjoy expanding their role, without training and guidance on HR procedures, compliance and legislation, this sort of responsibility can become stressful for the individual and often leads to problems for the organisation. The first of Kingsgate’s brand new HR courses is suitable for individuals who fit into this category. The course provides participants with the opportunity to learn how to review the effectiveness of HR within their organisation as well as developing new skills and knowledge.

A REAL PAIN IN THE NECK…. AND BACK AND LEGS AND ARMS!!! Sound familiar?
For most of us, sitting at a desk for prolonged periods of time is pre requisite to our job, however, we must be mindful of the long term damage that can be caused by the tremendous amount of stress and pressure this adds to our back. Our bodies were not designed for this activity and in addition to this, bad posture and sitting in slouched positions can also add increased tension to the neck, arms and legs. Even if you have never experienced any problems, it is always advisable to remember to stand and stretch every half an hour, which helps to keep joints, muscles and tendons loose, thus achieving optimum comfort during the working day and therefore maximum productivity!
