Bytes launches new Infigo web2print system at Total Print! Expo – stand no 355
Crawley, UK – 14 October 2008: Bytes Document Solutions, a leader in workflow and digital print solutions for the commercial print market, launches major enhancements to its Infigo web2print technology at this year’s Total Print! Expo (14-16 October 2008).

The Infigo web2print solution has been designed from the ground up to meet the needs of the commercial print market. First introduced in October 2007, Infigo is the result of over £1million investment in R&D including extensive customer beta testing. Infigo web2print delivers a powerful “retail-ready” web front-end and gives commercial printers an overnight online presence. The latest enhancements provide printers with greater opportunities to create new revenue streams and build customer loyalty from the delivery of personalised business cards, stationery, marketing collateral, customised greetings cards, calendars, photo albums, books, etc., for very little set up or development costs. Douglas Gibson, Infigo Product Manager at Bytes Document Solutions says, “The enhancements to Infigo now make it easier for our commercial print customers to generate profitable revenues from their digital print services. It is now being used by more and more commercial printers and within the next few years, web to print capabilities will be synonymous with every successful commercial print operation.”

New enhancements to Infigo include: Greater choice of online templates Printers can now create and design a wider selection of document templates for their customers, with the ability to edit in Rich Text and offer Java-based documents. This means a greater range of complex marketing materials can be accessed via Infigo by the customer who can then edit online and send them ready to print.

Enhanced web access Professional printers can now use Infigo without having to make major changes to their own web site interfaces. Printers can customise the front screen of the Infigo internet-based hosted option and offer their customers the ability to upload and track jobs, and create products such as personalised business cards and company stationery.

Fast payment system For pre-payment on print jobs and safe online transactions, Infigo now incorporates Protx, the UK’s leading secure online payment service for credit card processing and PayPal.

Intuitive design tools for end users A new user interface with intuitive design tools gives end customers of Infigo more choice on how they can edit their templates. Users can also upload, crop and rotate images as well as choose from a wide selection of font styles, font colours, borders and background colours.

Desktop printing The new Infigo Go Print driver allows end users to print from any Windows desktop application (e.g. Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Publisher or Adobe InDesign, etc.) direct to a commercial printer at the touch of a button. As part of the pre-print process, users are guided through a simple menu system where they can choose from a range of finishing and delivery options, ensuring that the quality of the document is exactly in line with their needs.

The Infigo Go Print feature minimises possible errors and cuts the time-consuming proof and approval stages from around 15 steps to less than five. Documents are converted to a print ready pdf where all the fonts are embedded together with all necessary print settings for output on either a digital or litho press.
