In order for Immigration New Zealand to make a decision on your application you need to provide the information requested below and evidence to substantiate this information. Factors that have a bearing on whether two people are living together in a partnership that is genuine and stable include but are not limited to the list below: The duration of the relationship  If you met through the internet or by penpals the date you started to communicate.  The date you met in person.  The date you moved in together.  The date of marriage if applicable. Please do not send in large photo albums, up to six photos in total is all that is required. We do not require every phone or electricity account, a selection showing the history of the account is required. All Applicants-include a brief outline of your relationship from the initial meeting to the present day and indicate your future plans. The onus of proof regarding your relationship is with you and your partner, so if you have been unable to answer any parts or unable to submit documentary evidence please explain why. When you submit your application for residence based on partnership, it would assist us by providing the following type of relationship evidence:

 

A letter giving a brief outline of your relationship from the first contact, the initial meeting to the current day and an indication of your future plans. Documentation to confirm the date you moved in together; i.e. tenancy agreement, utility bills. We can only accept that you have been living together if you can substantiate the claims with independent documentary evidence.

Information to confirm an ongoing relationship, this may include, but not limited to the following documentation:-

          

2-3 utility bills Joint accounts Joint travel arrangements. Invitations to you both 2-3 letters to you at the same address Statements or information to confirm monetary codependence 2-3 photos Marriage or civil union certificate and 2-3 photos Divorce documents if applicable Childrens’ birth certificate if applicable. Letters from both families acknowledging the relationship.



Any other documents that you feel may confirm the relationship.
