Principals Message Congratulations to students and staff for last weeks wonderful Arts Concert. It was a most enjoyable presentation by talented staff and students. I must thank the staff for all their hard work in putting the production together. Also congratulations to our Dancers who won their section at the Eisteddfod last Friday, beating a red hot field. Thanks to Ms Post for all her hard work in preparing the dancers. I would also like to thank those parents who assisted in the above 2 events. Your help and support has been invaluable. Staff Leave A number of staff including Tina and myself will be on Long Service Leave next Term for weeks 1-3. Mrs McKenzie, Miss Nye and Mr O’Dea will be all taking extended holiday leave. Miss Post will be Relieving Principal and Mrs Roberts will co-ordinate Years K-2. We are fortunate to have a group of experienced casuals available to fill in. School concludes for Term 3 this Friday, resuming for all students on Monday 13th October. Thank you to the Early Stage 1 teachers who have put together an excellent Transition Program for our 2009 Kinder students, and for all their hard work. Thank you to Mr Bogatek who has undertaken a period of Graduate Teaching on 1R. We hope to see him back in Term 4 as a casual teacher. Congratulations to the students who have taken part in our Intensive Swimming Program. It has been great to hear reports of your swimming improvement. Good luck to Lekiellia Brown, Emily Rennick, Sarah Levett and Indea Whyte who represent Riverina and WWPS at the State Softball Championships in Sydney this week. Jim Roworth Principal

A huge congratulations to the dance group who, not only performed to sell out crowds on both Thursday and Friday night but, backed up on Friday morning to perform in the Wagga Eisteddfod. In a large field of 10 dance items it was very exciting to see the girls and boys dance so beautifully. As we waited for the adjudication the dancers sat quietly in anticipation. A loud roar went out as we were announced as the winners. We are now the proud owners of the enormous “Duncombe Family” Wagga Eisteddfod Society Dance Trophy. The dancers have been asked to take their costumes home to wash and return by Friday. Their black leggings don’t need to be returned. Thank you to all parents for their assistance throughout the year for their help doing make-up, hair and transport and making costumes. A big thank you to Bronwyn Wilson, Pauline Janic and Kelly Bishop who have been assisting with every session. Kirrilee Post Dance Co-ordinator
