Dear Parent/Carer, Re. ICT/Business Studies to Disneyland Resort, Paris Dates: 24 – 27 January 2010
th th

As part of our commitment to broadening the educational experience of Kings College Students it is with th th pleasure that I inform you of a forthcoming educational visit to Disneyland Resort, Paris, from 24 – 27 January 2010. The trip is open to both ICT and Business students in Year 12 and BTEC ICT students in Year 13 and, although not compulsory, it will complement and enhance many aspects of the practical components of the A Level and BTEC. The visit will enable students to gain valuable field work experience by discovering how ICT and Business Studies are put into practice at Disneyland Resort Paris. Students will be expected to complete relevant assignments before, during and after the trip. It is estimated that the cost of the trip will be approximately £385. This is based on 25 students attending the event, but it may alter depending on the number of students committing to the visit. The cost includes Eurostar to Disneyland Resort, accommodation, insurance and all meals (excluding lunch), and also a three day park ticket. The only additional costs will be the cost of the train from Guildford to London (approx £15), pocket money for lunch and other incidentals (approx £10 per day) and the cost of a ‘team’ hoodie (approx £15). In order to keep the costs of the trip as low as possible it is recommended that the deposit be paid as soon as possible so transport can be booked as soon as it becomes available. We are inviting a formal expression of interest of £75 as a non-refundable deposit returned with the attached th th slip, payable by Friday 26 June 2009. The final balance must be paid no later than Friday 20 November 2009. Payment can be made by cash, cheque (payable to Kings College) or debit/credit card (in person only). There are various circumstances under which families may receive a financial contribution towards the cost of the trip. Those wishing to be considered for a contribution are invited to apply in writing to Mrs Down in the Finance Office. Yours faithfully,

Alistair Mitchell
Head of ICT and Business
