Awa TRAORÉ
Pianist, keyboard player, composer, singer, arranger, musical manager and professor, Awa Traoré discovers the piano alone together before following a classic education to the Regional Music academy of Avignon during her childhood. In parallel, she sings in choirs and professional masteries during her adolescence. She already feels in the time more attracted by the improvisation, the jazz, the music’s of the other continents, which she will begin to investigate in self-taught before entering schools and European trainings where she will study with personalities such as Enrico PIERANUZI, Nicolas FOLMER, Franco d' ANDREA, Stéphano BATTAGLIA, Paulo FRESU, Enrico RAVA, Furio DI CASTRI, Samy ABENAÏM, Bernard MAURY... Awarded a diploma in 1999 by famous Bill Evans Piano Academy, Awa multiplied the artistic experiences, the musical meetings often in an approach more and more close to a reconciliation of the African Diaspora. We were able to hear the wealth of her creativity and the sweetness of her voice in several musical styles within numerous forms going of the duet to Big Band, or in intimate solos in Sunset, in New Morning, in the Festival Blue Suburbs, in the Opus, in the Reservoir, in The Scene, in Kissed Salted, in the Festival Jazz in Toulon, in the Festival Spirit jazz, in 7 Lizards, in Man Ray, to the Hotel Vernet, in Cithéa, in Paris Prague Jazz Club, in television channels Mezzo, Fance 2 and M6 with Kamaro, on the Radio the Local... She also occurs abroad as in Italy where she was the guest of the group Extreme reactionary Lounge will present her trio during the Festival Pietre Che Cantano, will accompany the saxophonist Jessy Davis with the drummer Billy COBHAM, in Al Kuwait with the group SIYEZA, or to Dubai within the Hotel Madinat de la Jumeirah Company. At the same time as her artistic activity Awa Traoré passes on for several years her knowledge of the practice and the musical theory by teaching the piano and the singing then by accompanying choirs within structures such as the Artistland school, the Academy of Plessis Robinson, Acadomia or still during residences organized by the Festival Blue Suburbs. Besides, this surprising artist musician continues to announce us sincerely her art and her talent through the group AWALE, a musical project in her image.
