You won’t feel so strapped for cash when the holidays roll around. Your funds will be immediately accessible to you upon maturity and can be spent however you wish! Start planning now for holiday meals. Become a comparative shopper before the holiday season begins. While some items must be purchased fresh, many foods served during the holidays are available canned or can be frozen until needed. This includes ingredients for baked goods and vegetables. Look through the circulars of your local supermarkets and see which have the items you know you will need at the lowest price now and start stocking up. Go easy on the decorative lights. While lights are a part of the holiday season that many look forward to, it is easy to go overboard. This can lead to utilitily bills that are significantly higher than they are during the rest of the year. Decorate to your heart’s content, but be mindful of the electric bill that is forthcoming. Rethink holiday cards. Sending out holiday cards can be expensive. Consider sending e-cards instead of traditional paper cards. Your recipient list can be as long as you would like it to be and you will save a ton on postage costs. Be a cost-conscious holiday consumer. Evaluate which items are the best bargain for your money and where to get them. If a store that carries an item you want advertises that they match the prices of the competition, take them up on it.
