Yosemite Rock Slide at Yosemite National Park October 8 2008 A rock slide has occurred in Yosemite National Park injuring three, say park officials. The slide occurred just after 7 a.m. Wednesday morning near Curry Village at the east end of the valley floor. That's the site of another rockslide that took place on Tuesday. Two people suffered lacerations. They were treated and have been relased. The third person suffered an asthma attack while running away. According to Park Ranger Roger Kahn, the severity of the slide is considered between major and catastrophic. According to Kahn Curry Village has been evacuated. There were conflicting reports about the number of cabins that were damaged. Did You Know Rockfall events have helped shape many of the outstanding features along Yosemite Valley's walls, including Royal Arches, North Dome, and Half Dome. Giant talus slopes that slant away from the Valley walls accumulate debris with each rockfall event.
