The special collection service is for residents who wish to dispose of items that are too large or heavy for ordinary household waste collection. Up to eight individual items can be accepted in a single collection. 2. Refrigerators and freezers can be removed free of charge. The CFCs will be extracted safely from refrigerators and freezers and then the hardware scrapped. Fridges/freezers must be cleared of all food waste. TERMS & CONDITIONS
1. A special collection of bulky items of household waste can be arranged for up to a maximum of eight items per single collection. 2. Each item for collection must be of a size and weight as to be easily carried by two persons. Broken glass must be wrapped, boxed and labelled. 3. Items must be easily accessible at all times and any overgrowth or vegetation needs to be cleared for easy access. Please make sure vegetation is no more than 50cm high. Items must be no more than 25 metres walking distance from the public highway, and be located on ground floor level, which is that of the pavement. 4. Operatives are not permitted to enter the dwelling. 5. Arrangements will be made for items to be collected within 5 working days from when we RECEIVE the completed form and the payment (if applicable). If you wish to pay by credit/debit card or book an appointment please provide a daytime contact number (A number that accepts anonymous call’s). Appointments are offered on an AM/PM basis and are subject to availability. 6. The Council will not collect any builders rubbish, bricks, concrete, iron baths, pianos, asbestos, earth, sand, gravel, oil, boilers or chemical storage tanks, gas cylinders, tyres and batteries. (Engine oil (in a container) and batteries can be put into your recycling boxes). 7. A plastic dustbin liner or box containing a number of items is classified as ONE item, please list this as one item in the item’s for collection (Point 6: Of page 1) 8. A special rate will be charged for the collection of more than 8 items. A price will be quoted if you tick the appropriate box overleaf.
