budget inadequate coordination across housekeeping shifts cost of living in Asheville diversity, esp. racial, but other as well equipment for grounds department evaluations are meaningless funding is the major issue funding model (based on growth) limits us funding to be competetive gossip, mis-understanding and low-morale Gym track needs improvement Inability to recruit faculty because of lack of funding keeping quality people, esp. staff, due to low pay lack of communication within departments lack of communication lack of day care lack of endowments lack of parking limits on financial aid location, distance from Raleigh Marketing of campus and the way people see us more solar on buildings No deep pockets not enough student housing parking in relation to green space pay: no merit-based pay, pay with respect to cost of living, needing a 2nd job, raises not connected to effort. paying for parking persistent underfunding reliance on state for funds salary inequity/salary compression size of development staff technologically behind technology and support too much gossip understaffing still a huge problem we are missing an ROTC program we are missing risk takers

Low funding not keeping up with technology access to us easy for criminals Asheville and WNC doesn't help draw diversity tenuous utility systems water expenses brain and experience drain funding model based on growth misunderstandings of our mission unsupportive alumni escalating cost of living in Asheville Inability to recruit those who we most want to recruit rising cost of living vs slow growth of salary People worry if they will continue to have input Hope the process won't just get shelved let's walk the walk, not just talk the talk retirees driving up taxes and housing

raise lowest salaries regional scholarships for minorities professional development endowment salary hikes computer labs increased parking increased child care outdoor recreation, e.g., swimming pool financial help with books safety equipment equipment generally a major capital campaign better brochures hire best fundraiser and require him/her to raise five times his/her salary improve web site computer upgrades scholarships for ambassadors scholarships in general recognition of employee excellence upgrade smart classrooms books for students sprinklers and fire alarms, etc.

free tuition for everybody forever environmentally sensitive monorail to downtown a huge, multi-purpose building for students funding current and future projects to the best possible levels land acquisition for future free housing for staff subterranean parking structures finish multi-media and science building day care center study abroad for all students internationalize our campus experience help art and drama students establish careers housing and scholarships better campus setup overall buy barber shop on corner scholarships enrollment center with everything in one place adjust all salaries for faculty and staff a student employment program on campus satellite campus downtown a full staff and a recruiting department/building a football stadium subsidized or free housing for staff wireless network and free laptops green and sustainable campus upgrade facilities invest money new buildings with hot water a big, multi-purpose building for staff a new administration building with elevators and restrooms on both floors free tuition for children of staff merit system to encourage professional development improve whole athletic program Disadvantaged children -- free tuition (sponsor a class) Comprehensive program for staff
