Calculations are performed from the worksheet "Calculator". Some auxiliary parameters used in the calculation are specified in the worksheet " A bankfull discharge Qbf, a bankfull bed material sediment feed rate Qtbf,feed, a gra a porosity lp, a factor L characterizing the units wash load deposited in th and an intermittency If must be specified. In the case of a gravel-bed river, the wash load can be interpreted to be sand. In the case of a sand-bed river, the wash load can be interpreted to be silt. The initial bed has a specified slope SfbI . The normal slope Sn is computed from the input parameters.

The time evolution of the river profile is computed by clicking the button "Do a Cal In performing this calculation, the following parameters must be specified: L = downchannel reach length; M = number of spatial intervals, so that the spatial step length = L/M; Dt = time step length; Mtoprint = number of time steps to a printout; Mprint = number of printouts in the calculation. Results of the calculation are given as data in worksheet "ResultsofCalc", and as "PlotWidth" and "PlotDepth".
