FFA Chapter Secretary of the Year
Instructions For New Jersey FFA Secretary of the Year Award
The following are the definitions of the items that must be included in the Secretary's Book: State and Chapter Officer List: This list should include the officers currently serving the state association and the local chapter. Chapter Constitution and Bylaws: Include a copy of the chapter's most up-to-date Constitution and Bylaws. Membership Roster and Record of Participation: An accurate record of all members and the activities they participate in should be included. List of Standing Committees, Chairs, Members: This list should include the names of the standing committees of the chapter, the chairperson for each, and the members involved. Program of Activities: Include a copy of the chapter's most up-to-date Program of Activities. Committee Reports: Compile all committee reports throughout the year and include in the Secretary's Book. Treasurer's Report: Compile all treasurer's reports throughout the year and include in the Secretary's Book. Meeting Agenda and Minutes (include reports given at meetings): Include copies of the agenda and minutes of every meeting. If members or officers give reports, include in the secretary's book. Correspondence: A record of all correspondence throughout the year should be included. Suitable binder with appropriate dividers: The Secretary's Book should be placed in an 8 1/2" X 11" binder that is no more than 3" thick. Each section should be clearly labeled using tabs. Neat, Organized and Up- to- Date: Materials are in good condition and in appropriate order. It is also important that information provided in the secretary's book is from the current school year and that it has been updated throughout the year.

Rules For New Jersey FFA Secretary of the Year Award
1. This event is open to all current Chapter Secretaries. Each chapter may submit one (1) entry. 2. The books will be judged by a committee during the State FFA Convention. At convention, books should be brought to the appropriate room. The books will be returned during the convention. 3. The first place award for this event is $50. 4. Participants must preregister prior to the event using the State FFA Convention form by April 9.
