BIRTHDAYS We would like to wish Will Mulligan, Cleo Gatting, Robbie Gent, and Jodie and Ryan Brealy a happy birthday next week. CHULMLEIGH YOUTH FC Congratulations to the team for reaching the Plate final of North Devon's Opticop League Cup/Plate event. The team is made up of primarily Year 4 and 5 Chulmleigh Primary school children but also has players from Winkleigh, Lapford and East Worlington primaries. Good luck for the 10th May! The Club has recently achieved Charter Standard status which means it has been recognised by the FA (Football Association) as a Club offering best practice in coaching, administration and child protection. This is a fantastic achievement. For the 2009/2010 season the Club is hoping to expand by adding an U11 team to its current complement of an U10 team and an U14 girl’s team. If you are interested, please contact Karen Povey on 01769 581475.

GENDER ISSUES The school is planning to write A Gender Equality Scheme, outlining steps it takes to ensure equality of opportunity in our school for boys and girls, access to services for all parents, male and female, as well as equality issues connected with staffing. Are you interested in meeting with us to enable us to have a “customer view” on these issues? We would meet for about an hour and would look at issues such as uniform, combating stereotyping, access to all areas of the curriculum, sport, discipline, timing of meetings to ensure all parents can attend, plus any other issues which you consider to be relevant. We would really value parental insights, so if you feel you could help, please complete and return the slip below. -------------------------------------------------------I would be interested in attending a meeting to look at gender equality issues
