Striving for Excellence and Promoting Christian Values Newsletter 27/March 2009 CLASS NEWS Class 1 Class 1 and Class 2 had a super trip yesterday, thank you to all the helpers. Year 1 have books for the holidays, reception do not. Have a lovely Easter break. Class 2 We have had a lovely, calm week with a wonderful visit to Esholt Farm too! A big thank you to all our parent helpers, both on the trip, listening to readers and helping in class. We really appreciate your support. Also, a big thank you to the PTA who paid £3.50 per child towards our trip to the Farm visit. We hope you all have a great holiday and that the weather is as good as it has been. Class 3 News written by Daniel Town and Daniel Pink This week we made stories in ICT for Class 1. We have been making Easter cards and painting eggs when one of the groups was doing PE. We have been making circuits in DT and Science and if you take an object off the circuit there will be a buzz! We have been going in the rec to play because of the good weather. Have a nice Easter, hope you get lots of chocolate Easter Eggs! Class 4 We have had a productive last week in school; the children have worked really hard and Mr R and I are very proud of them! We thoroughly enjoyed reading the Humphrey Head diaries, and we hope parents will too – congratulations to the winners. Thank you very much to all the parents who have sent in cards of thanks for the Humphrey Head trip. We are so pleased that everyone had such a fabulous time. We have all enjoyed listening to the children presenting their PSHCE projects – an awful lot of hard work has gone into them – well done! Could the Year 6 children who are transferring to South Craven in September please complete their personal details form and return it to school after the holidays. Thank you very much to the PTA for buying the wooden eggs and paints. We had great fun decorating them, and they look very effective. We have taken some pictures to show you. The netball festival has been re-arranged for Thursday 23rd April 2009, and the team remains the same. Another permission letter will not be sent home. I will assume the original team are able to attend unless I hear otherwise – please let Mrs Fawcett know as soon as possible. Have a brilliant holiday and a good rest, and we look forward to seeing you after the holidays. All Classes RECORDERS – Mrs Tomlinson’s recorder group is going to be our Music Club after Easter. It will be on Thursdays from 3.30 pm until 4.00 pm. Sorry to children who cannot manage Thursdays, but this is the best time for most of us. Dinner Money for next term will be – First child in Family £48.00 for 2nd and subsequent children it will be £43.20. Kildwick CE Primary School Date change Danny from Bradford City sends his apologies as he is unable to start the football club on Thursday 23rd April 2009 as he is now attending a course. The club will start on Thursday 30 th April 2009. If you are in Year 2 and would like to attend the dance club, please return your reply slip to Mrs Fawcett as soon as possible. We hope you have a lovely time and we will see you back in school on Monday 20 April. PTA Flora vouchers - keep sending them in please. Thank you to those of you already sending them in – we have 32 tokens so far and we are 91st on the leaderboard. Remember the top 5 schools will have a roadshow in the Autumn! The Morrisons gardening equipment has now arrived. Week commencing 20th April the 50p trail starts - please read separate letter in book bags on Monday or Tuesday next week. Thank you to all who have sent the questionnaires back – these will be discussed at the next PTA Meeting. Next summer fair meeting is Monday 20th 7.30pm in White Lion – everyone welcome. Next PTA meeting is Monday 27th April in the white lion at 7.30pm - come along and discuss the summer fair and the 50p trail and the BBQ in July and anything else you feel needs discussing! Have a nice Easter break, enjoy your time off, relax and keep safe. CHURCH NEWS Sunday is Palm Sunday and the start of Holy Week. The 10am service will start with the Blessing of Palms at Barretts Bridge, Priest Bank Road, followed by a procession to the church for Holy Communion. Details of services during Holy Week can be found in the parish magazine on pages 4 & 5. On Easter Day there will be a special Family Service at 10am including the blessing of the Easter Garden, renewal of baptismal vows and the traditional children’s Easter Egg hunt in the churchyard following the service.
