THE 12th ANNUAL ROAD TO RICH'S WAS A WEEKEND TO REMEMBER! We enjoyed sharing this famous (or should we say infamous) stage with Coal Creek Bluegrass Band from Boulder, CO, the Wild Blooms, and others. The music was fabulous and Don now has tie-dyed socks! Thanks for having us, Rich, and happy birthday. THANK YOU TO ADELANTE, THE SOUTHWEST PICKERS, AND ALL OF THE VOLUNTEERS AT THE INAUGURAL ENCHANTED DESERT BLUEGRASS FESTIVAL! We had a wonderful time playing to a hometown crowd and appreciate all the folks who got up early Sunday morning to come out and support us. The weekend was filled with great music, including King Wilkie and Blue Highway, with proceeds going to a wonderful cause. A special thanks goes out to Janice of Elliot's Ramblers for her very kind introduction! WE HAD A BLAST PLAYING THE 20th ANNUAL TUCSON FOLK FESTIVAL! Wow, what an incredible event! Thank you to the board and to all the volunteers who helped make the festival a success. Raising Cane played Saturday on the Artisan's Stage to a packed crowd of newly initiated cane raisers. Thanks so much to that awesome audience, to Linda Lou, Dave, and Suzette for hosting us, and to Milo for having us on his bluegrass show on KXCI. We hope to get back down to Tucson again soon. Y'all are a great crowd! JOIN US AT BUNNIE'S BLUEGRASS BENEFIT FOR THE LANCE ARMSTRONG FOUNDATION ON JUNE 4. Raising Cane will be performing with the Cawlfield Family Band, the New Found Dogs, and a secret special guest band that not even we know about! The benefit will be held at the Lobo Theater in Albuquerque with doors opening at 7:45 (the music begins at 8:15). Tickets are on sale at Natural Sound for $18 (advance), $20 at the door, and $40 for a VIP ticket (champagne reception, silent auction preview, reserved seats, and other goodies). All proceeds go to the Lance Armstrong Foundation benefiting cancer survivors. Join us for a great night of bluegrass to support a wonderful cause. RAISING CANE KICKS OFF THE SUMMER WITH AN EVENING AT WINNINGS CAFE JUNE 11. Before leaving for the Huck Finn Jubilee on the 15th, Raising Cane plans to put on a show for all our friends and supporters here in New Mexico. We'll be playing at Winnings Cafe in Albuquerque at 7:30 with a $5 suggested donation. Come by and send us off to California in style. We look forward to seeing you there!

VICTORVILLE, CA, HERE WE COME! Raising Cane will be performing at the Huck Finn Jubilee and National Bluegrass Playoffs June 17-18. Huck Finn, Newsweek's choice as "one of eight great American festivals," has a weekend line-up that includes the Nashville Bluegrass Band, Rhonda Vincent and the Rage, Merle Haggard, IIIrd Tyme Out, Blue Highway, and ... RAISING CANE! We perform Friday on the main stage at 3:10, just after our good friend Mike Compton and the Nashville Bluegrass Band. On Saturday, Raising Cane again plays the main stage for the National Bluegrass Playoffs. Huck Finn describes the competition as "designed to promote the professionalism of Bluegrass music throughout the United States. Four bands are invited to showcase their talents Friday afternoon and return Saturday at 12 noon for a FINAL PLAYOFF that sends one of them to the IBMA Convention, Awards Show, and Fan Fest in Nashville, Tennessee. Selecting these top bands is a continuing process." LOOK FOR US AT WILDLIFE WEST'S BLUEGRASS WEEKEND IN EDGEWOOD. We'll be playing there June 26 with the Stevens Sisters and the Bankester Family Band. Look for more details in next month's newsletter or go to www.wildlifewest.org. WE HAVE A NEW WEB ADDRESS - www.raisingcanebluegrass.com. Please visit us there. The new site is in the works, and we hope to have it up and running soon. It will include band news, an updated schedule, pictures from shows, and downloadable MP3 files from live performances.
