PRELUDE: “I Will Sing of the Mercies” CHRISTIAN GREETINGS Anthony Lloyd, Deacon of the Week
Worship is vital to the life of the church. Please help us maintain the proper worship atmosphere by noting the following: Please do not bring food or drink into the Sanctuary. Please turn off all cell phones, pagers, & beepers. Please refrain from leaving during the service. If you must leave, please use the back doors of the Sanctuary to keep distractions to a minimum. If your infant is hungry or crying, please bring him/her to the Nursery, located in the main corridor. The Invitation at the close of the service is very significant. Unless it is an urgent matter, please remain and pray for those making decisions. Excellent and loving childcare is available for infants through preschoolers during the worship service.

HMBC has committed through the Men's Ministry to serve a hot breakfast at SERVE on the fourth Saturday of even numbered months and the Women’s Ministry will do the same on the fourth Saturday of odd numbered months. The men will be there next on October 24 and the women on November 28. Men and women (13+) are invited to minister with either or both groups—that includes you! You're can help cook or help minister to souls every fourth Saturday. See Ray Haddad or Gladys Booth for more information. BAPTISM – If you have professed faith in Christ, or desire to do so, and will be baptized by immersion, you may join by confessing your faith through baptism. 2. TRANSFER OF MEMBERSHIP – If you are a member of another Baptist church, you can simply transfer your membership to HMBC. This is sometimes called “moving your church letter.” We will attend to the details of the transfer. 3. STATEMENT OF FAITH – If you have professed faith in Christ and have been baptized by immersion after salvation, but are not a member of a Baptist church, OR if your membership records in a Baptist church are unavailable, you may join by your statement of these conditions.

Best of all, you'll have fun and experience life change in just a few hours. With this small investment of time, you'll be ready to begin a new journey to higher spiritual ground. THANKSGIVING BASKETS If you know of a family or individual who would benefit from a free Thanksgiving Basket from the church, please submit their name, address, and phone number to Gail Cordero in the in the Church Office. Our Deacon Body will be getting together several Thanksgiving baskets for our own folks who need a little extra help to celebrate the holidays. Lockheed Martin will donate the turkeys, green beans, corn, potatoes, cranberry sauce, cake mix, frosting, and carrots but we need to supply other non-perishables such as turkey stuffing, turkey gravy, pickles, olives, canned vegetables, etc. A box is set up in the front foyer for your donations. When shopping for your own families please pick up a little extra for the donation box and remember those who need our help at Thanksgiving. For any questions, please see Gail Cordero here at the church or email her at firstname.lastname@example.org. GOSPEL OF JOHN BOOKS We are almost out of the pocket-sized Gospels of John that we pass out in our neighborhoods. We have only 60 left. Can you help us get more? You can request more for our Outreach Team just by contacting the Pocket Testament League at 1800-636-8785 or www.pocketpower.org. Your help is greatly appreciated. For questions, see Ray Haddad, Director of Visitation.
318 YOUTH Reverse Trick or Treat will take place on October 31. We will meet at the church at 5 PM and take the church van to Pastor Wes and Eve's neighborhood. Once there we will go door to door and hand out the Gospel of John and other church literature. We will go until about 7 PM and then go to Pastor Wes and Eve's home where they will host us for hot chocolate and cookies. We will return to the church at 8 PM. The kids will be going off in teams and we could use the help of a few adults who are willing to walk with each group. If you are willing to help, please let me know. The SBCV Youth Evangelism Conference (YEC) will be in Virginia Beach on January 16-17. The cost of the event is $25 per student plus food. Please let Pastor Wayne know if your child wants to attend and the cost is prohibitive. The event will be a great opportunity for your child to hear great preaching and learn how to share their faith. We will leave the church as soon as possible when the youth get out of school, stay overnight in Virginia Beach, and return to the church Saturday night about 9 PM. Youth need to sign up for this event no later than November 1. All Youth information for these and other upcoming events can be found on our church web page. You can go directly to the youth page by following this link http://hatchersbaptist.org/content.cfm?id=301. Smaller events such as youth hangout nights and other outreach events for the near future will be included soon so please check out the website often. If anyone has any questions, please see Pastor Wayne Chapman or call him at (703) 368-6545. Please join Pastor Wayne each week in praying for five members of our youth group. This week, please pray for: Katlyn Chapman, Mason Clark, Jenna Comer, Richie Cordero, and Linea Duffus.
