Maulidur Rasul 1428H Colouring and Drawing Contest March 19, 2007 Dear Educator,
The North West Mosque Cluster (NWMC) is organizing a Drawing and Colouring Contest which is open to all Nursery, Kindergarten One and Kindergarten Two mosques kindergarten and Kids Alive students. The theme is ‘A Good Muslim’. We invite teachers of theses levels to encourage participation and include the Colouring Contest in their lesson plan. A few posters of a good muslim are enclosed for use by all Nursery and Kindergarten One students for the Colouring Contest. The softcopy is also available on the web page at www.darulmakmur.org under Maulidur Rasul 1428H. As for the Kindergarten Two students, we would like them to take part in the Drawing Contest based on the same theme. Students would require to submit original poster designs. Below are some suggestions which could be included the following: Turn-takings at the playground Saying Hi to your neighbour Giving ways to elderly Helping the needy Keeping our Country Clean We have enclosed the Poster Contest requirements and an entry form for your use. You may make copies for all teachers and students. THREE WINNERS FROM EACH LEVEL WILL BE SELECTED AND WILL RECEIVE TROPHY DURING THE MAULID CELEBRATION. All potential winning posters will be displayed at Woodlands Stadium on April 1, 2007 in conjunction with Maulidur Rasul 1428H celebration. Posters will not be returned. ALL POSTERS MUST BE POSTMARKED NO LATER THAN WEDNESDAY, MARCH 28 and should be sent to: Darul Makmur Mosque 950 Yishun Avenue 2 Singapore 769099 Attn: Children Unit We do hope you will give your support in helping us achieve maximum participation in MAULIDUR RASUL 1428H by participating and encouraging other teachers to include this very worthwhile contest in their lesson plan. MAULIDUR RASUL 1428H POSTER CONTEST INFORMATION ORGANIZER: THEME: MUIS & Mosque North West Cluster (NWC) ‘A Good Muslim’

The purpose of the Poster Contest is to encourage students to understand the teachings of the prophet and apply it in our daily lives. It is through this contest that we would like to solicit student’s conception that will reflect the above theme. Teachers may explore the theme by using some of these ideas: Have students explore what ‘A Good Muslim’ really means. For younger students, it could include concepts such as what is good and right. For older students, an overview of Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) good moral conduct (akhlak) and spirituality (aqidah) would be appropriate. This theme enables the Poster Contest to show how a good muslim should behave and work together for the common good for a multi-racial community. ELIGIBILITY: Colouring Poster Contest for Nursery and Kindergarten One Original Poster Design Contest for Kindergarten Two

REQUIREMENTS: Colouring poster for Nursery and Kindergarten One is enclosed. For Kindergarten Two students entries must be on a drawing paper (size). The words ‘A Good Muslim’ should be part of the overall design. Media and colour used in the design is left to the discretion of the student. Simple designs and bright colours are suggested. Judging is based on the student’s ability to make a statement about ‘A Good Muslim’. Please fill in the enclosed entry form and attach to the back of each entry. Posters will not be returned. PRIZE: CRITERIA FOR JUDGING: DEADLINE: Three winners in each level will receive trophy Originality, expression of theme, visual appeal, ability to follow above-listed requirements.
