					APPLICATION FORM INTERNATIONAL FESTIVAL MATERIALS
When Australian films are selected to screen at key international festivals, the producer can apply for funds to contribute to the making of materials required for the screening and promotion of the film. These might be print/dubs, audio enhancements, publicity materials, dubbing/subtitling, release scripts, and other costs associated with festival marketing including, where appropriate, publicist fees and international advertising. Applicants should refer to the Screen Australia Marketing Department Program Guidelines 2009 for specific details about this program. Writeable fields expand as you type. ELIGIBILITY
All applicants and projects must meet the general eligibility criteria for Screen Australia funding in the Terms of Trade. The following specific eligibility requirements apply (Screen Australia may make exceptions to these at its discretion):  International Festival Materials support is available to the producer(s) of completed feature films, short features, short films, documentaries, animation and cross-platform digital media projects that have been accepted into a key international festival (listed below). Written confirmation of festival acceptance must be provided.  International Festival Materials support is only available for world/international premiere festival screenings. Preference will be given to projects selected to screen in key programming strands (with a preference for Competition strands) at the international festivals listed below.  Applications for blow-ups to 35mm/formats for superior digital cinema standard will only be accepted if the film is accepted into competition in the festival and the screening venue does not screen digital media.  An applicant must be the producer or production company of the film. It is expected that the producer will work with the international sales agent of the film in producing the required materials.  Cost of travel to the festival can be sought via the Festival & Marketplace Travel program (see guidelines).  Screen Australia will not provide funds retrospectively.  Please provide a detailed marketing budget together with details and documentation of any other marketing funding secured and applied for (in the template below), plus a marketing plan (as an attachment).      Screen Australia reserves the right to negotiate amendments to this budget as a condition of the provision of funds. If this budget is inadequate for your project, please attach a budget. Screen Australia does not fund retrospectively. Please attach written quotes for all lab/production costs to validate those you have listed in the template below. Please note travel costs will not be funded as part of the application for International Festival Materials support. Applicants should refer to the Marketing Department’s Festival and Marketplace travel program (in the guidelines) for filmmakers to travel to international festivals. NB: If applying for a publicist fee(s) a detailed quote from the publicity company outlining the services provided must be attached. Advertising quotes for designs, size, and placement should also be included.

Before you send in your application, please: • • • Read the Marketing Department Program Guidelines 2009 for the specific requirements of your application. Complete all questions on this application form. Collate your materials, but do not bind or staple.

NB: Applications that do not include all the requested submission materials are considered ineligible and cannot be assessed. TWO paper copies of everything. A DVD of the project. A one-line AND one-paragraph AND one-page synopsis. Written confirmation of festival acceptance. A list of the materials requested by the festival for which funds are being sought. Written quotes on company letterhead for all lab/production/marketing costs for which funds are being sought. A statement from the producer detailing the marketing plan for the film and the potential opportunities that might arise as a result of the screening of the film at the particular festival. Full details of any existing marketing and distribution arrangements (Screen Australia may request copies of any and all agreements) including marketing contributions from distributors and sales agents. Examples of any publicity or promotional material produced to date. If applying for a publicist fee(s), a detailed quote from the publicity company outlining the services provided. Advertising quotes for designs, size, and placement should also be included. Evidence of authority to market the film. CVs for the producer, director and writer.
