• John McCain and Sarah Palin believe that we can and must provide access to better health care, at lower cost, for every American. • The key to health care reform is to restore control to the patients themselves. • Health care should be available to all and should not be limited by where you work or how much you make. • Through more choice, innovation, competition, prevention, and better technology, we can ensure that all Americans have the health care they deserve.
A Specific Plan Of Action: Ensuring Care For Higher Risk Patients John McCain and Sarah Palin understand that those without prior group coverage or with pre-existing conditions often have the most difficulty obtaining the coverage they need. They will work with governors to develop a best practice model that states can follow – a Guaranteed Access Plan – that would reflect the best experience of the states to ensure that these patients have access to health care coverage. The McCain-Palin team will work with Congress, the governors, and industry to make sure that this approach has the appropriate funding and the right incentives to reduce costs for higher risk patients.
