‘SPRAYGROUND’ AREA features an exciting interactive area with amenities and spray attractions. MAIN POOL features a raindropper and a basketball hoop for swimmers’ enjoyment. Children 7 & under must be accompanied by a swimming adult (18 & older). A Deep-Water wristband is needed to swim in the deep end of the main pool. DIVING POOL has a 1-meter diving board, and a drop slide. A Deep-Water wristband is needed to use the diving pool. DEEP WATER SWIMMING TESTS are conducted Monday-Friday from 12:00-4:30 p.m. and Saturday-Sunday from 12:00-5:30 p.m. Deep water test must be passed before swimmers are allowed in the 5-foot area or the diving well. Admission fees required. Test cost $ 3.00; and daily wristbands are $.25.

Level 1: Introduction to Water Skills

No Pre-requisite: Should be 6 years old at the start of lessons. Purpose: To help students feel comfortable in the water and to enjoy the water safely. Students will learn good attitudes and safe practices around the water.

Level 2: Fundamental Water Skills

• Children 4 years old and younger will be admitted free when accompanied by a paying adult. • Proper swimming attire required of all paying customers wishing to enter the pool facility. • Season Passes and REC Cards can be purchased at the Leisure Services Office, 1003 Pleasant St., Monday thru Friday from 8 a.m.4:30 p.m. Pool passes may also be purchased at the pool. However, the actual passes and resident REC cards need to be picked up at the Leisure Services Office. • REC Cards are required for resident rates •

Pre-requisite: Level 1 certificate or demonstrated competency in Level 1 skills. Purpose: Builds on the fundamental skill of Level 1. The objective of Level 2 is to give students success with fundamental skills. Students learn to float without support and to recover to a vertical position. This level marks the beginning of true locomotion skills. Students explore simultaneous and alternating arm and leg actions of the front and back to lay the foundation for future strokes. Students also add to the self-help and basic rescue skills they learned in Level 1.


KrueGer Pool
Level 3: Stroke Development
Pre-requisite: Level 2 certificate or demonstrated competency in Level 2 skills. The objective of Level 3 is to build on the skills in Level 2 by providing additional guided practice. Students learn to coordinate the front crawl and back crawl and are introduced to elements of the butterfly and treading water. Students also learn rules for headfirst entries and begin to learn to enter the water headfirst from the side of the pool. Additional safety skills are also presented.


Krueger Swim team is a program designed to help you develop as a swimmer. LOCATION: Krueger Pool DATE: June 15 - August 21 DAYS: Monday - Friday TIME: 9:45 a.m. - Noon FEES: $55.00 for kids 5-10 years old; $65.00 for ages 11-17; $75.00 for 18+ AGES: 5 and older

Level 4: Stroke Improvement

Pre-requisite: Level 3 certificate or demonstrated competency in Level 3 skills. The objective of Level 4 is to develop confidence in the strokes learned thus far and to improve other aquatic skills. Students are helped in improving their skills and increasing their endurance by swimming familiar strokes for greater distances. Students continue to build on the butterfly and are introduced to the elementary backstroke. Basics of turning at a wall are also introduced.


This 9 week program is perfect for those aching bodies! Our pool will offer a relaxing way to exercise under the summer sun. Level 5: Stroke Refinement

Pre-requisite: Level 4 certificate or demonstrated competency in Level 4 skills. The objective of Level 5 is coordination and refinement of strokes. Participants refine their performance of all the strokes and increase their distances. Flip turns on the front and back are introduced.


Level 6: Swimming and Skill Proficiency

Pre-requisite: Level 5 certificate or demonstrated competency in Level 5 skills. This level polishes all strokes learned in previous levels. The objective of Level 6 is to refine strokes so students swim with more ease, efficiency, power and smoothness over greater distances.

Join us at the Krueger Municipal Pool for some fun on Friday nights. This year we will be hosting Krueger Fun Nights at the Pool. We will be having a DJ at the pool, so you can swim, dance or just relax. Games and prizes throughout the night, as well as concessions. Don’t miss your chance to have some fun at the pool on Friday nights. No pre-registration is required! RIVERFEST 2009 “Sportz Zone”
DAILY ACTIVITIES: • “Chip-In-The-Lagoon”: Participants attempt to “chip” a golf ball onto a target floating in the Lagoon using a sand wedge. Winners will receive a certificate to play 9 holes at Krueger-Haskell Golf Course. • “Free Throw Contest”: Participants will compete against others in their age group for the title, “Free Throw Champ!” • “Ball Handling”: Participants will be dribbling against the clock, in and out of cones, and through our mini-course to claim the “Ball Handling Champ” title! • “3-Point Contest”: Participants in this event will shoot from different marks behind the 3-point line to earn the most points and become “3-Point Champ!” • “Hot Shot”: Hot Shot participants race the clock to rack up as many points as possible...great fun for all ages! • “Bags”: Each day of Riverfest 2009, we will feature open bags for families and friends to try out. The area’s premiere “nature” day camp. Adventure Campers will explore the trails and terrain of Big Hill Park, enjoy a variety of sports and games, and create great arts & crafts items. Special events include weekly trips to Krueger Swimming Pool, Friday Cook-outs, and special guests. Field trips are planned to Turtle Island, and the Henry Vilas Zoo in Madison. Adventure Camp is open to all kids ages 6-12. Free transportation is provided by the City of Beloit, with busing from Telfer Park. Critter Crazy is designed for youngsters between the ages of 3-5. Camp will include activities and discoveries with a focus on nature. Youth actIvItIeS
Golf Clinic instruction will be run by Beloit Memorial Golf Coaches and Players. Registrants will receive instruction on all areas of the game: chipping, putting, long irons, short irons, and driver. Each day will consist of training stations with instruction from either coaches or players. On the final day of the clinic we will have a brief training session followed by a nine hole round of golf. Pre-registration is required either at the Clubhouse or at the Leisure Services Office. Learn from the pros and improve your baseball skills at the Snappers Youth Baseball Clinic! This clinic will help young ball players improve their skills in hitting, catching, pitching, base running and defense. Each participant will receive a clinic T-shirt, lunch, and a free general admission ticket to that evenings Snappers game. The Krueger Kids Club will not only learn how to play golf, but will also learn the rules of etiquette involved with the game of golf at Krueger-Haskell Golf Course.
