					About the Festival Presenters
She lley M. Jago w Professor of Music at Wright State University serves as director of the Symphonic Band and Saxophone Quartet, and professor of Saxophone and Music Education courses. Dr. Jagow serves as a Selmer Artist Clinician, performs with the Dayton Philharmonic Concert Band, Springfield Symphony Orchestra, Lebanon Symphony Orchestra, and has commissioned works for solo saxophone and ensembles from both national and international composers. She has presented clinics and performances at OMEA, MENC, ISME, and NASA conferences, and has served as honor band conductor at the local and provincial level. She has published several articles in periodicals and is the author of the book and DVD of Teaching Instrumental Music: Developing the Complete Band Program. The Wright State University Saxophone Quartet is a performing chamber ensemble comprised of current music education/performance majors. The Quartet is a recipient of the Edgar Hardy Scholarship, the Dayton Chamber Music Society Scholarship, the University of Nebraska-Lincoln Chamber Music Institute Fellowship, and the Wright State University Presidential Commendation for Excellence. The WSU Saxophone Quartet has performed throughout the United States in Connecticut, Indiana, Nebraska, Ohio, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Utah, Virginia, and Washington D.C. International performance tours include Japan and Italy. The WSU Saxophone Quartet (Avion) released its first professional CD in 2009 which includes two world premiere performances. OPEN to ALL Sa xoph onists Grades 6 – 12 & Band Director s
The Saxophone Quartet Festival is open to ALL students who have at least one year performing experience on saxophone, and directors interested in refreshing their pedagogy. No audition tape is required. All you need to do is mail in your application and check. You will receive music at the festival, and be placed in an appropriate ensemble class.
