Antoine Trommelen (soprano, alto, and tenor saxophone) is a self-taught musician, and is highly regarded in the worlds of Dixieland, Swing, and Mainstream-jazz. He is the leader of several jazz bands, an award-winning soloist, and has played with many international jazz greats including Bob Wilber, Tom Baker, Dan Barrett, Bob Barnard, George Probert, Dee Daniels, Bruce Adams, Gene Conners, Peanuts Hucko, Satoru Oda, Leroy Jones, Benny Powell, Wendell Brunious, Steve Yocum, Lillian Boutté, Leroy Jones, John Allred ,and Roy Williams. Dutch jazz artists Pim Jacobs, Thijs van Leer, Denise Jannah, Greetje Kauffeld, and many others. Antoine has appeared at many festivals in the Netherlands (including the prestigious North Sea Jazz Festival). His favourite music is the swing-music from the 1930ties and 40ties with tenorplayers Lester Young, Ben Webster and Coleman Hawkins. On soprano-sax his main influence is Bob Wilber. Antoine’s music can be heard on many albums and CD’s. He has played in concerts on radio an on TV in the Netherlands, Belgium, France, Germany, Luxembourg, Denmark, Switzerland, Hungary, Curaçao, Bonaire, Taiwan and Japan. Antoine is also chairman of the famous Breda Jazz Festival, one of the biggest jazz festivals in the Netherlands, with more than 250,000 visitors annually. Next to his work as a jazz-musician Antoine is also a band member of the famous Dutch pop singer Guus Meeuwis.
