Bad Irish Bartending Class (BIBC)—“Job Search Guide” We take helping you advance your career very seriously at the Bad Irish. Whether you are searching for employment in the Hospitality Industry, or you are looking to “step up” and advance at your current job, we will steer you in the right direction. Whether you are new to the business or a vet, there is something to be gained by everyone. A little refresher is always a good thing. Here is what you get: Upon completion of the Class, we will supply a complete and current list of area bars and restaurants as well as the contact name(s) for those establishments. Whether it be the owner, the general manager, or the bar manager, you can rest assured knowing we will do our best to keep the list accurate and up‐to‐date to ensure your job prospecting will be streamlined and focused. We want you to succeed! Additionally, you will be able to include your BIBC participation on your resume. There are many ideal candidates out there competing for the same job that you are. This is your opportunity to stand out from the rest and to showcase your education to potential employers. There is an inherent cost associated with the training of new employees, and you are saving your future boss time and money. He/she will undoubtedly appreciate your initiative and will consider you more seriously for the job. You can also use your BIBC Instructor as a reference when job searching. Just remember that punctuality and professionalism go a long way in class! Granted, we are not a job‐placement agency but if we know of an opening and are called upon to make a recommendation, we will do our best to ensure the pairing is good for both the applicant and the employer. We will also review your resume (optional) and keep your email for future job opportunities that should arise. We will give you proven tips on interviewing and getting the job. Just ask! It is amazing what we have picked up over the years. We also offer a TIPS Certification Class. If you are unfamiliar, this is a 5‐hour legally required class for anyone wanting to serve alcohol in the state of Idaho. It is mandatory, and employers are going to want to know you have completed it. It is required that you renew it periodically as well, so if you need to renew, why not take the BIBC as well? These TIPS classes can cost as much as $50 elsewhere and don’t come with nearly as much fun and additional knowledge. The BIBC is recommended for anyone who cares about giving their guests the utmost attention to detail when it comes to service. Better service leads to better TIPS! Our goal at the Bad Irish is to educate. There is so much you can continue learning beyond our doors if you so choose, but we provide the building blocks and the mindset to succeed, and the confidence you will need to stand above the rest. We cover the basics you should be expected to know. With the knowledge we provide, you will better understand and be able to inform your guests about wine and beer, the different kinds of liquors and liqueurs, as well as how drinks are made and why? Best of all, we will provide proven methods for great customer service such as cleanliness and working efficiently, and we will also cover legal topics to ensure you are not a liability for your next employer.
