[GFX: ASTON ANIM. “EGYPT ATTACKS”] Seven bomb attacks have ripped through the Egyptian tourist resort of Sharm-el-Sheikh. Eighty-three are dead and over two hundred injured, including eight Britons. [GFX: MAP EGYPT (ZOOM RED SEA COAST, EXPLOSION DETAILS)] Four bombs exploded in the Old Market of the resort, while three explosions were seen in the Naama Bay area, at the Trade Centre, Movenpick and Ghazala Gardens Hotels. Reports suggest that at least three of those seven were car bombs. It's the deadliest attack in Egypt since the nineteen-fifties, and as Nick Thatcher reports… [GFX: THATCHER STOCK PIC] …the attacks were unprovoked, and unexpected. [GFX: STORY ASTON “LONDON ATTACKS”] Police in London have arrested a second man in connection with the attempted terrorist attacks in the capital on Thursday last week. The man was arrested late last night. This follows the arrest of another man at Stockwell tube station on Thursday, and the shooting dead of a man attempting to board a train yesterday. Meanwhile there's been a security alert at Mile End station. Passengers described smelling smoke and burning on board a train approaching the stop. The station has now reopened. [SIDE SHOT] MG ROVER A Chinese company has bought liquidated car manufacturer MG Rover for an unknown amount. [VT: NANJING HANDSHAKE; LONGBRIDGE PLANT] Nanjing Automotive has indicated that it wants to continue car-making in the UK, but shift some business over to China. It follows the closing of the Longbridge MG Rover plant in April when the company went into administration. [WIPE] [PIC: BALDRY] BALDRY The British blues singer, Long John Baldry, has died at the age of 64. He had had a chest infection for four months. He was best known for being Eric Clapton's inspiration to play the guitar. [WIPE] [VT: CHANNEL 4 CRICKET GRAB] SPORT Cricket, and Australia are currently 372 for 9, after 97 overs.
