The 5th Singapore Team International and the 31st WDF Singapore Open 2007 TOURNAMENT RULES
Thank you for taking part in our tournaments. This is meant to be used in conjunction with, and is in addition to: 1) SDA Rules & Regulations March 2007 edition, and 2) WDF Rules 7th Edition November 2005. Additions to the SDA Rules & Regulations are appended at the end of this document for your reference. The Singapore Darts Association (SDA) takes a serious view on player conduct and discipline. Any SDA-run tournament will have as its first priority, the insistence of compliance to the conduct and disciplinary expectations of the Association for all who take part. 1. 2. Players will observe proper decorum and behaviour when they are in the tournament hall/playing area. Drunkenness, unruly behaviour, and the ill effects of excessive alcohol consumption will be dealt with severely. Any player misbehaving due to excessive alcohol consumption will render themselves and their team disqualified from all tournaments (also see below). Tournament officials alone will decide whether a player is incapacitated due to alcohol, without the need for any scientific or testing device such as a Breathalyzer. The Tournament Director reserved the right to disqualify any player from the tournament and eject the player from the venue without the need to assign reason. Any player so disqualified/ejected will render their entire team disqualified in the Team International and will not be allowed to take part in the Singapore Open. Any prize monies, trophies or any ranking points earned in any tournament will also be forfeited. In the singles event, the first named player to receive a bye will chalk the first game of the day. Subsequently the loser of the game will be required to chalk the next game. In all games, the toss of the coin will determine the order of play. The winner of the toss will start first, playing the odd numbered legs and the loser will start first in the even numbered legs. Any SDA member who commits a disciplinary rule infringement during the 3 days of the tournament will be severely dealt with, undergoing an automatic and mandatory minimum 2 league games suspension, and the case will be reviewed by the SDA Disciplinary Committee to determine if further action is necessary. Any player(s) rejected by the Singapore Darts Association or any dart governing bodies will not be allowed to participate in the tournament(s). The Tournament Director reserves the right to eject the rejected player(s) from the venue without the need to assign reason. All prize winners must be present (no proxies will be allowed) at the prize giving ceremony. Failure to be present will result in the forfeiture of all prize monies and trophies. All managers/captains are required to attend the briefing on 10th August at 12.30pm. The draw will be conducted after the briefing.

REMINDERS FOR OUR INTERNATIONAL GUESTS: The scorer/chalker may, if requested, inform the player what he has scored. He CANNOT inform the player what he has left or how to finish the leg or game. Anyone not directly involved in the play should not offer advice on scoring, balances and doubles left etc. In doubles, triples and team events, members of a partnership at the oche may advise each other during the course of the game. The consumption of alcoholic beverages, food and snacks and the use of mobile phones or similar instruments during matchplay is strictly prohibited. Any player or scorer contravening this rule will have the leg being contested awarded to the opponent. It is the responsibility of the player to verify his score before removing his darts from the dart board. The score remains as written if one or more darts are removed from the board. If the player is not satisfied with the score called, he can with the permission of the official, approach the dart board to verify the score. Should a player have any portion of his/her feet or footwear on or over the “Oche” during the throw, all darts so thrown shall be counted as part of his throw but any score made by such darts shall be invalid and not be counted. One warning by an official shall be sufficient before invoking this rule. Should a player cross the “Oche” with both feet before throwing the second or third dart, it would be deemed that the player has completed his throw and the score on the board would be the score recorded for that throw.

TOURNAMENT FORMAT 1. Teams will be divided into groups depending on the number of teams registered. They will play the games on a round robin basis. After that, the games will be played on a knockout basis. The format of play will be: Team International – Foursome 1001 X 1 leg followed by 3 singles and 2 doubles.
