Dear Parents/Guardians: We will have a school dance on Friday, October 17, 2008 in the school gym from 7:00-9:00 PM. The Student Council will sponsor the dance. Please discuss the following information with your child. We need your cooperation to make this activity successful. 1. Admission will be $5.00 at the door. Only Salem Middle students will be admitted to the dance. 2. Parents are required to pick up their child after the dance between 9:00 and 9:15 PM. Students not picked up by 9:30 PM will not be able to attend the next school dance. In an effort to decrease the amount of traffic entering and exiting the parking lot, we encourage you to carpool if at all possible. We will use both bus loop and carpool area for pick up. Sixth grade parents should use the bus loop. Seventh and eighth grade parents should use the carpool area. In case of rain, please park and come to the gym for pick up. 3. No students will be permitted to leave the gym prior to 9:00 PM unless the parent/guardian comes to the gym to pick them up. 4. All students must have the permission slip (below) signed in order to be admitted to the dance. 5. To avoid damaging the gym floor, students are to wear tennis shoes or dance in their socks. 6. Students are not to run, push, play tag, or climb on the closed sections of the bleachers. 7. Students assigned to ISS (for a whole day) or OSS from 07/07/08-10/17/08 will not be able to attend. 8. Soft drinks and snacks will be sold. 9. Students are responsible for their purses. Do not leave them on bleachers or in other areas where they could be stolen. 10. No student will walk home or to any other establishment after the dance. Teachers, staff and parents will serve as chaperones. Parents must be registered with WCPSS to volunteer.
