1. 3 "Alpäsplash", Engstligenalp The spirit of summer comes to Engstligenalp on 16 /17 April 2005 when winter sport enthusiasts attempt the water jump and surf event. The 3 annual "Alpäsplash" takes place by the Skilift Dossen on 16 /17 April 2005. Competitors attempt to cross the pool with a snowboard, skis, airboard etc. The aim is to present the jury with the most stylish, elegant and original ride. The dare-devil surfers will be rewarded for their courage or sheer bravado! Water-wary spectators can watch the hit-or-miss manoeuvres, or hang out at the bar. 2. "Closing-The Wall", Engstligenalp A week before the close of season, the ultimate session with professional snowboarders takes place on Adelboden's Engstligenalp nd th from 22 -24 April 2005. "Closing-The Wall" was first held in 1996 and this event marks the end of the season for freestyle snowboarders in the Bernese Oberland although the st nd pistes on Engstligenalp remain intact until 1 May 2005. On Friday 22 April 2005 professional snowboarders will use the quarter-pipe for photos and rd th filming. On Saturday and Sunday 23 /24 April, everybody can have a try in the pipe and test the newest boards for the coming winter season (free of charge). Moreover, the highest jump of the day will be rewarded. The snow bar and the ever popular sun loungers complete this attractive event. On Saturday evening, there's a party with DJ's and two live concerts (Snooty Cheekbones and Nancy Glowbus). Further information: www.closing.ch
