EXCEL XP: INTERMEDIATE This class builds upon the skills mastered in Excel XP: Basic. (Attending the basic Excel class first is required.) Students will create more complicated documents using advanced formulas, pivot tables, LookUp functions, and graphics. Class also includes how to manage, link, and protect worksheets. Students will learn how to calculate auto or mortgage payback schedules or impress the boss with data exports to manage the numbers. WINDOWS XP: INTERMEDIATE This class is for those who are comfortable with a computer but want to know how to manage their system. Students will build upon the basics and learn how to customize settings, multi-task, task-manage, optimize explorer, organize files/folders, disk clean-up, maximize memory, and choose security options. Students will be introduced to the basics of this powerful application program. Students will also identify parts of the Microsoft Word screen and create documents, open, edit, format, save, and rename. BASKET MAKING: OPEN WEAVE CLASS In this class, students will be able to finish up baskets or start a new one. Instructor will offer materials and project ideas. Supply fee varies. Jenison H.S.-Rm. 314 1 Thursday 4/17 6:30-8:30 p.m. $15 Zientek BASKET MAKING: ORGANIZER BASKET This basket measures 16" x 11" x 7" high. Dyed natural reed and sea grass are used to create a plaid pattern in this useful basket. It has handmade leather handles attached on each end. Supply fee of $22 to be paid to instructor at class. Jenison H.S.-Rm. 314 2 Thursdays 2/7-2/14 6:30-8:30 p.m. $25 Zientek BASKET MAKING: STRIPES AND CROSSES TOTE BASKET This basket measures 10" x 10" x 11" high, and handle height is 18". It has a beautiful stripe and cross design, woven mostly with dyed reed to create an interesting pattern. The handle is hand carved hickory from Tennessee. Supply fee of $24 to be paid to instructor at class. Jenison H.S.-Rm. 314 1 Thursday 1/24 6:30-9:30 p.m. $20 Zientek BASKET MAKING: WALL POUCH BASKET This basket measures 3" x 6" x 8" high. This is a handy basket for mail. A handmade handle will be added across the back for hanging. Dyed reed and a curl pattern are used in this design. Supply fee of $16 to be paid to instructor at class. Jenison H.S.-Rm. 314 1 Thursday 3/13 6:30-9:00 p.m. $20 Zientek BASKET MAKING: WASTE BASKET This basket has a 7" round wood base and is 16" high. Choose dyed reed to match your decor. The main part of the basket will be woven in a twill pattern. Curls may be added if you choose. Supply fee of $24 to be paid to instructor at class. The pattern looks like flames going around the basket. Supply fee of $12 to be paid to instructor at class. Each student needs to bring two 8-inch baked cakes (unfrosted) to class. Instructor will provide the frosting and decorator tips for students to use and keep. Supply fee of $18 is due at class. Grandville Middle-Rm. 106 1 Tuesday 2/5 7:00-8:30 p.m. $15 Brunelle CPR & FIRST AID This course teaches adult, child, and infant CPR; how to assess an emergency; and what to do until medical professionals arrive. Bandaging and splinting techniques and how to recognize other emergencies will be also be covered. Course meets requirements of the Michigan Department of Child Day Care Licensing. Students will receive two year certification from the American Heart Association in CPR and First Aid. Handouts provided at class. Optional books available from instructor for $10 each. DANCE CLASSES: SOCIAL BALLROOM The following social ballroom dance classes are held at Hudsonville Park Gym. Instructors are Roger Brouwer and Bonnie Null. The cost is $80 per couple. BEGINNER I Ballroom dancing is fun, good exercise, and something you can do all your life. Class is designed for couples who have a strong desire to learn but have little or no previous training. Class size is limited; enroll early! No class 2/25 and 2/26. 9 Mondays, 1/14-3/17 6:30-7:30 p.m., or 9 Mondays, 1/14-3/17 8:50-9:50 p.m., or 9 Tuesdays, 1/15-3/18 8:50-9:50 p.m. BEGINNER II Unless you have had considerable previous training, this class is designed for couples who have successfully completed the Beginner I class. We will expand on the 25 steps already learned in the foxtrot, waltz, polka, and swing and progress into the Latin dance steps. ENROLL EARLY! CPR: HEALTH CARE PROVIDER This class is designed for nurses, CNAs, dentists, coaches, lifeguards, emergency care workers, and the general public. Topics covered are adult, child, and infant CPR; “brain attack” (stroke); and AED. Students will receive certification for two years from the American Heart Association. Textbook is required and will be available from instructor for $14. Grandville H.S.-Rm. 280 2 Tuesdays 2/5-2/12 6:00-10:00 p.m. $40 Krepps CPR: HEART SAVER Students will learn what to do when they find someone choking or in cardiac arrest and the signs and symptoms of heart attack and stroke for adult, child, and infant victims. This course is ideal for non health care workers. Students will receive certification for two years from the American Heart Association. Textbook is required and will be available from instructor for $10. Grandville H.S.-Rm. 280 1 Tuesday 2/26 6:00-10:00 p.m. $30 Krepps CPR: RECERTIFICATION Participants must present proof of current certification in CPR from American Heart Association or American Red Cross. Upon successful completion of this class, CPR certification will be issued for two additional years. Grandville H.S.-Rm. 280 1 Thursday 2/7 6:30-9:30 p.m. $20 Krepps CROCHET (BEGINNING and CONTINUING) This class will teach Beginning Crochet students the beginning chain stitch, single crochet, double crochet, and how to turn at the end of a row. Students will learn how to read a pattern and the standard abbreviations. A new pattern will be taught each week. A skein of Sugar ‘N Cream yarn and size J crochet hook is needed each week. Continuing Crochet students should bring a pattern and materials to class each week, and the instructor will assist you in your project. Instructor will also have patterns available at class. Each class will get you energized with either step, low impact, or boxing, followed by strength training and abs galore! Definitely no chance for boredom. All fitness levels welcome. FITNESS: LOW IMPACT AEROBICS This fun class consists of lower impact aerobics and toning with weights and floor work. Great for all levels. It is usually practiced for its health benefits. Practicing Tai Chi improves balance and leg strength, calms the mind and body, lowers stress and blood pressure, and increases mental clarity. It also supports the healing of injuries, improves circulation and coordination, strengthens the immune system; and increases bone density, agility, and flexibility. All fitness levels are welcome. FITNESS: YOGA (HATHA) WITH PILATES (BEGINNING and INTERMEDIATE) (Ages 16+) Hatha Yoga is a movement of the body and a system for living that helps maximize health, serenity, and happiness. Everybody can benefit from yoga instruction. Practicing yoga will build strength, flexibility, and balance enabling you to release tension by using relaxation and meditation techniques. We will also incorporate the Pilates method, which strengthens the mid-section. Please bring a yoga/exercise mat, blanket or towel, water bottle, and wear comfortable clothes. Participants will also have an opportunity to work on personal narratives that are not shared with others in order to begin a process of healing for a difficult personal issue. 1. Preregistration is necessary for all classes. 2. Payment must accompany registration. 3. Registration confirmation will NOT be mailed. Students will be notified only if a class is filled or canceled. 4. Register early to prevent class cancellation due to low enrollment.

5. TRI-ACE is self-supporting; therefore, a minimum enrollment is required for each class. TRI-ACE reserves the right to cancel any class at any time.

REFUND POLICY
1. Classes that have not met the minimum enrollment 48 hours before their start date will be canceled, and a full refund will be issued. 2. If student cancels at least 48 hours (or two business days) prior to the start of the class, a refund will be issued (minus $10 processing fee).
