									EMPLOYMENT CONTRACT/ SALARY /
AGREEMENTS
EMPLOYMENT CONTRACT
The employment contract is between the employer and the employee.

DURATION OF EMPLOYMENT
JobStart has two selection and recruitment options as outlined under the
Selection and Recruitment section on Page Error! Bookmark not defined.4.

1. Permanent recruitment - the term of employment needs to be at least 30
hours per week and for a minimum of 12 months, however this may be
   negotiable under certain circumstances.
2. Holiday/ Part-time Employment – as required

SALARY/ WAGES
This is paid directly by the employer to the employee and may be eligible for
a Job Ops Subsidy.

Adult Minimum Wage - The minimum adult wage is currently set at
$12.50/ hour.

JobStart recommends that this is a good place to start for an entry-level
employee. However, we also recommend a review of this rate after a 3-4
month period. Young people respond extremely well to the incentive of
having a review.

JOB OPS SUBSIDY
Job Ops provides employers with a $5,000 subsidy to provide employment
opportunities to young people with low or no skills or work experience
provided it meets the following criteria:

 Position must be at least 30 hours per week and for a minimum of 6
    months
 Employment is offered to a 16 or 17 year old or 18-24 year olds who are
    receiving the Unemployment Benefit
 The position does not replace current roles lost due to redundancy
 The position does not have a 90 day trial provision as part of the contract.

JOBSTART AGREEMENT
Once employment is offered and accepted, employers will receive our
standard JobStart Employer Agreement document. This agreement outlines

what you can expect from JobStart during the young persons’ first year of
employment and the employers responsibilities.

FEES
JobStart is currently being established as a Charitable Trust in recognition of
our focus in assisting young school leavers into their first job and providing
them with mentoring and support. However, to enable us to continue our
work without completely relying on outside funding, a small placement fee
will apply. Please contact us for our current rates.
