JOTS FROM JUDY What a great party! Everything from the hot apple cider to the last cookie crumb was delicious. Conversation and games with old and new friends was enjoyable. Also, I am pleased to know that I belong to a group of kind and generous women. We donated 75 pillowcases and 52 blankies to Childrens’ Hospital. I do not spend much time on the computer, but I do read a lot. In the last few months, I have read: 1. Comfort Food by Kate Jacobs 2. A Single Thread by Marie Bostwick 3. I enjoyed an afternoon visit with Sylvia Compson in The Quilter's Kitchen by Jennifer Chiaverini [the Apple Pear Crisp is really good] 4. The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society by Mary Anne Shaffer and Annie Barrows. These were all good stories and I do have the books. If anyone would like to read them, please let me know. I wish all of the Crazy Quilters and their families a Joyful New Year. Co-president Judy Wilke From the Editor: All feedback about the newsletter, whether positive or constructive, is always welcome! Remember, if you do not receive a newsletter by the first of the month, feel free to email me at the address below or call me at 414-769-6897 and I will be sure to get one to you! Christmas Loopies and Pillowcases
When you look at these pictures, it is obvious that there are no Grinches among our Crazy Quilters! We collected 52 Loopies and 75 Pillowcases to donate to Children’s Hospital. I’m sure we brought lots of smiles to the faces of many sick children.

Thank You!
Here is the note we received from the First Congregational Church: “Thank you so much for your gift of poinsettias! They will look beautiful in the Sanctuary— Your friends at First Congregational Church”

2009 Guild Challenge
Our 2009 Guild Challenge is “We’re Seeing Stars”. The rules are as follows:            Entry fee: $1.00 Your quilt must include a star shape, a star pattern or a star fabric. The maximum perimeter is 100 inches. You must give your entry a “starry” name. Write the QUILT NAME on the star name tag (if you didn’t get one of these tags, see Linda Schubert at a guild meeting.) Put YOUR NAME on the back of your quilt—not on the star name tag. Bring your entry to the March Guild Meeting. All members will vote for the winning quilts. You do not have to have an entry to be eligible for voting. Winning quilts will be awarded ribbons and prizes. All Star Quilts will be on display at our show in April. Have fun!

Charity Quilts

We will accept fabric donations from our members’ stash. The fabric must meet the following criteria:  MUST be 100% cotton  MUST be of usable size – no scraps Kits are made up and can be picked up at any of our meetings, or you can call Betty, Bonnie or Barb to arrange for pick up. The kits are 'complete'. They contain precut strips, borders where required, binding, backing and batting. There are a limited number of kits available with previously completed tops that just need borders, or layering and quilting (bindings & batting are included in those kits).

Raffle Quilt Committee
The Raffle Quilt Committee will need the Pineapple Squares returned at our January Meeting. Please bring them finished, or the unfinished pieces as we need to get started sewing the top together.

Library
All our library books are available to members each meeting. Please sign the book out, return it the next month, and sign it back in. Contact Cheryl Whiteford if you have any questions.

Sunshine Committee
In December, a sympathy card was sent to Machelle Oestreich for the loss of her mother. For 2008, 5 sympathy cards and 4 get well cards were sent out. Thanks to all the members that have informed me of the need for a Sunshine card. Remember our guild members who are ill or experience a death in the family. If you know of any members who may need a little sunshine, please contact Cindy Osinski.
