Happy New Year!
The PTFA would like to thank all parents & carers who made a contribution towards our Christmas raffle, calendar and toy sale. We raised £157.00.

Children’s Birthdays: Happy birthday to the following children who will be celebrating their Birthday during January: Zubaydah Stacey Daniel Evie Oceanna

Swimming: unfortunately we have had to cancel the swimming sessions for this term due to no lifeguard at the pool. We hope to get the sessions up and running as soon as possible once a new lifeguard has been appointed.

Gift sale: We will be holding a January gift sale on the 15th January at 11.30am and again at 3.00pm. If you have any unwanted gifts you would like to donate to us, please give to Shirley.

School fund – thank you to all parents/carers for contributing to our school fund. Please remember you can now put your £1.00 weekly donation in to your child’s group money box. This will go towards replenishing sensory resources for your child’s group activities

Appeal: Our pet snail is desperately in need of a new home as it is out growing its current one. If you have an old plastic/glass hamster cage or Happy that could house a large snail, something similar Birthday!! please speak to a member of staff.

Healthy Snack Trolley: we will be starting up our healthy snack trolley on a Tuesday afternoon at 3pm and on Thursdays at 1130am and again at 3pm. This is a chance to buy healthy snacks for your child such as fruit, flapjack and cartons of fresh juice.

Please find overleaf our Family Services group time table which will be up and running from February. Please note there have been some minor changes, and swimming may not be available. Please check with a member of staff for more information. Thanks

Stay and Play 2-3 years @Redcliffe Methodist Hall 9:30-11:00 An opportunity for children to learn to play and socialise in a friendly atmosphere supported by early years practitioners and family support staff Windmill Hill City Farm Clinic 9.30-11.00 a time to have your baby weighed and have a chat to your health visitor. Cherubs 11:0012:00 This breast feeding is group friendly and fun. It is run by mothers and supported by staff. Windmill Hill City Farm Early parenting group 2:00-3:00 Run by the community nursery nurse. It is an opportunity to discuss weaning, play and development.

Family learning & crèche Time table to be arranged

PEEP @Redcliffe Methodist Hall 10.00-11.00 This is a structured group for all children under 5. Children enjoy singing, activities and story time and parents can join a practitioner for talk time.

Woman in mind Redcliffe CC-Family Room 9.30-11.30 Mums can relax and chat with other mums. There is the opportunity to discuss issues, share ideas or go on visits.

Baby Group Redcliffe CC 1:00-2.30 A group for babies under 1. A chance to meet other parents and participate in baby massage or sing and sign

Wiggle and giggle @ RedcliffeMethodist Hall 1-3 years 1.30-3.00 pm Let your child use up some of their energy with physical activity, including moving to music, balancing, jumping and climbing.

Fathers Group @ Redcliffe Methodist Hall :1.00-3 Join our fathers worker and other fathers for an informal, supportive, fun session where there is opportunity to play with your child.

ESOL and crèche @ Redcliffe Methodist Hall 4:30-5:30 English for speakers of other languages

Homework club @ Redcliffe Methodist Hall 4-11 years and parents 4:00-5:45 This session is for parents and children to work together on home work with support from a tutor.

Building work will be starting on the 19th January. We will have an extension to our community room. The children will loose the climbing frame temporarily for safety reasons. The work will finish on the 9th April.

Kelly Dyer key person for Red Group is leaving on a secondment as a community nursery nurse. She will be back at the end of the year. This is an exciting opportunity for Kelly, we wish her all the best.

Celebrity Marks on a post card auction: Please help if you can. In the summer we are having a grand fund raising event to raise funds for our many special activities. Do you know any celebrities that would doodle on a post card and sign it for us to auction. If you can help please inform Shirley on reception. Thanks.

Letter from The Head Dear parents, carers and families, From all at Redcliffe Children's Centre, we wish you a very happy New Year 2009. As the children return to the Nursery we are getting ready for another exciting term. Please look at the Family Services group timetable. There is a variety of activities. There is also a new adult cooking group starting and a wiggle and giggle group for under three’s on a Thursday afternoon at 1.30pm-3.00pm with brand new equipment. The children will love this.
