Haiti Parish Mission 2007 Resurrection’s annual mission to our Haiti twin, the Foyer des Filles de Dieu girls’ orphanage in Port-auPrince, will take place from Thursday, January 18, through Saturday, January 27. Wednesday Women’s Group It’s fresh fruit and vegetable time! As you preserve, please make some extras for our Fall Craft Bazaar and Bake Sale on October 14. On August 26, we will bake cakes in a jar. Bring wide mouth pint jars and ingredients for your favorite pound, applesauce or other “heavier” cake. Help Wanted With A Move Fr. Jim Fosnot is moving to Charlottesville this Wednesday, August 2. Special Pot Luck to Welcome Priests While it is still very new and early on in our parish life, this transition to our two-priest situation warrants a special celebration. So, we will welcome Msgr. Joe and Fr. Rob with a special pot-luck after 4:00 PM Mass on Sunday, August 20. Please mark your calendar and plan on coming with a dish to serve 8-10 people. Youth Faith Formation Class Registration Registration is underway for youth faith formation classes. Classes begin on Wednesday, September 6. Forms are available in the office or by contacting Mike Carr at or 297-5530. Please register now so that we can be sure to have materials for all students. Virtus “Protecting God’s Children for Adults” training will be held at Holy Name of Mary, Bedford, on Saturday, August 26, beginning at 9:00 AM. All diocesan employees, clergy, religious, teachers, staff and all volunteers who regularly work with or are regularly involved with children or youth are required to attend a training course. Parents and grandparents are also welcome to attend. There is no charge for the training. To register, go to and follow the Virtus links. If you have questions or need help in registering please contact Mike Carr. Viva VBS Volunteers Our Vacation Bible School “Fiesta” was a great success! The youngsters learned a lot and had fun! They especially enjoyed sharing their songs with the parish at Mass. Please call the office if you would like to participate. RCC Provides “Renewal” for Thomas More Center We at Resurrection are blessed by the presence and liturgical leadership of Fr. Mike Champlin, Fr. Nick Punch and Sr. Joan Bukrey every year during Holy Week and bi-annually for a week for Parish Renewal. In thanksgiving, a few members of RCC raised the funds for a new deck for them at their Wisconsin home. Frank Leonardo and Jim Tilley went to Wisconsin to lead the project.
