What it Takes to Give and Win?

Slovak Donors´ Forum (SDF) was officially registered in 2000 as the Interest Association of Legal Entities.

SDF is the association of the donor leaders in Slovakia that respect the Code of Ethics enshrining fundamental ethical principles and values and thereby contributing to the enhancement of the culture of giving, openness and transparency of the whole non-profit sector in the Slovak Republic. In 2006 the Club of Corporate Donors was formed by SDF as an association of companies that do business in the Slovak Republic and corporate philanthropy is integral part of their entrepreneurship. All members of the Club are experienced in transparent and strategic giving.
SDF is the partner organization in the international initiative CEENERGI Central and Eastern European Network for Responsible Giving, and Donors and Foundations´ Networks Europe (DAFNE). SDF is a member of the Government Council for the NGOs as well as prestigious worldwide network Worldwide Initiatives for Grantmaker Support (WINGS).

 promotion and reinforcement of philanthropy and responsible giving strategies in Slovakia (by innovative instruments such as DMS mechanism and professionalization of corporate philanthropy – Club of Corporate Donors)  enhancement of donors´ position and cooperation  development of Slovak civil society

CSR – What does it mean?
CSR is about how companies manage the business processes to produce an overall positive impact on society.

CSR is the continuing commitment by business to behave ethically and contribute to economic development while improving the quality of life of the workforce and their families as well as of the local community and society at large.

Capacity Building – What is it all about?
= actions that improve nonprofit effectiveness (Barbara Blumenthal in „Investing in Capacity Building“) = actions that enhance a nonprofit's ability to work towards its mission = organizational development, effectiveness and/or performance management of the for-profit institutions = assistance which is provided to entities which have a need to develop a certain skill or competence, or for general upgrading of performance ability

Capacity building is activity which strengthen the knowledge, abilities, skills and behavior of individuals and improve institutional structures and processes such that the organization can efficiently meet its mission and goals in a sustainable way
