Biogas is now a well known technology in countries like Germany, Denmark, Austria,
yet just a couple of agricultural plants are in operation in Eastern Europe. Biogas is an
energy carrier which could be utilized for a few energy applications such as heat
generation; consolidate high temperature and force preparation, transport fuel etc.

 It is focused around renewable sources
 Reduced odor and flies nuisances
 Compared to other biofuels, biogas needs the lowest amount of process water.
This aspect is very important since many regions of the world face huge water
       problems.
 Biogas technologies contribute to reduce the volume of wastes and the costs for
       waste disposal.

Waste management basically implies the gathering, transport, preparing or disposal,
managing and checking of waste materials to minimize its results on humans and
environment. There are several methods of managing all the various types of waste.
Some of these methods cause additional harm to the environment, but not doing
anything is not an option.

Incineration method of waste management

Incineration means burning of waste material. This strategy is basic in countries with
restricted landfill space. Incineration chambers might be little for domestic utilization, yet
there are huge ones for metropolitan use too. It is good for treating waste with
contamination (like those from hospitals) and risky waste from industrial factories, yet
the strategy handles an excess of carbon dioxide (see our air pollution lesson). Modern
incineration procedures are more proficient and discharge less dioxin than home
chimneys and lawn grills. This technique is very basic in Denmark, Germany and the
Netherlands. This strategy is viable, yet expensive.

Landfill with or without pre-treatment

Landfill is used to hold fundamentally non-dangerous waste where the spillage of
contaminants into the earth or ground water is not hazardous to nature. Illustrations are:
plastic granules tidied up roadways, clean soil from development goals.

Chemical treatment

Chemical treatment is the place risky waste responds artificially with different parts to
process aggravates that are less dangerous to nature's turf. For example, acidic effluent
can be neutralized with a base, such as lime, before discharge.
